MD Anderson Cancer Hospital

I was wondering if anyone here has any knowledge about what we can expect when we go there.

I am taking my Dad to MD Anderson sunday for specialized cancer treatment. He has been fighting cancer since Jan of this year and has had a recurrence so they reffered him to this Hospital. All google searches have led to nothing but good things. I ask some of you gorillas to send him up some prayers.

One of my good friends..his wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer at 28. Now going through Chemo..but seems to be successful thus far. There is hope.

I can not help out with what your father and you will go through at MDA but I have been there before.

The facilities (this is Houston right?) are amongst the best in the world, my Mom went through some very serious surgery and the nurses and doctors are top notch.

These are the real heroes in life.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your father and your family - it goes without saying but it is important to keep our heads up and support our family when they go through these things.

Dont get discouraged - they have a support group there as well that can help you through the process, just my .

Thanks Scud, He is a fighting sob. He has been on chemo for 10 months with two rounds of radiation and even with the recurrence he is more positive than ever.

My wife was a patient at MD Anderson for nine years. It's my belief that they gave her several more years of life than she would have had otherwise.

It's a large place and the bureaucracy can be frustrating sometimes, but I don't think there's a better cancer center in the world.

We have a new Cancer center here in NW Ark. We are aorking on getting a Reel Recovery retreat up here and I have been talking alot with the doctors. They speak very highly of the MD center. They say it is rather big, but they make you feel at home.

You will be in our thoughts and prayers. If you and your dad need an escape, we have some great trout waters up here. Nature does a body good.

We are home early with discouraging news. The people at the hospital were great the doctors could spend a little more time with the patient to anwere Q's but that place is huge and busy so I can see they are stretched for time. Keep those prayers coming!!
