a bit of a fortified shandy. I think, if I were to make it, I might adjsut the brands of the ingredients a bit, but the shandy itself has been around for many decades.

Shandy is generally just beer and lemonade (from the link you posted)... beer and lemonade isn't quite it, the idea of riptide/porchcrawler/pink-panty-dropper (my drink) is to take the water you would use to make 8 lemonade concentrates and REPLACE them with the beer/vodka

I understand, the ice probably contributes a bit to lowering the proof as it melts. As I said, more of a "fortified" shandy.

I use concentrate... it yields the best results..
