Wife made a 25 lb turkey, and I got up at 6am to put my free range 13lb turkey in my smoker. I still smell like smoke tonight!

We roasted a 17 pound turkey, and added a 1/2 Honey baked ham, 5 pounds of potatoes, 2 pounds of green bean casserole, 1/2 gallon of gravy. My next door neighbor gave us half of a small fried turkey. We also deviled two dozen eggs, baked a 9x13x4 dish of stuffing and a couple of dozen cresent rolls, and included beaucoup garnish (pickles, olives, cranberries, etc). For dessert we made one cheesecake, one pecan chocolate chip pie, one pumpkin pie and added whipped cream and ice cream.

Why not both for both holidays. Don't you know that venison was the more likely main meat at the "first" Thanksgiving?

Actually, we did go lighter this year since we had no guests.

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner Poll: Turkey, Ham, Eating Out, Other?

I've never had a TDay that wasn't turkey and ham. I usually skip the ham, but the mother in law makes a killer ham. Not so this year, but usually.
