As for working harder Mon-Fri, I know thats true, the problem in this type of industry in Mexico, It doesn't matter if there is no work pending, they still want you to come "just in case something happens".

I work Saturday's till 40pm off Sunday, Monday. I'm not sure whats worse getting up on Saturdays to go to work or Mondays.

I feel your pain, I work 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Fri, Sat and Sun every other weekend and a few 12 hr days throughout the week. The three day weekends off are a + though. At the moment I am covering for a guy that is using up the rest of his vacation before the end of the year so I have one day off between now and Christmas. Uncle sam is going to love me....lol

I've only had one job where I didn't work Saturdays in the last 17 years. These days I work Saturday/Sunday, take Monday off to do homework and go to class and then spread my work over the other four days of the week depending on how much work there is to be done.

I work a 6/3 rotation. 6 on, 3 days off. My weekend falls on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. Once every 5 weeks I get a normal weekend.

Also at our facility there are 4 security checkpoints and 2 are open off hours for deliveries. Every once in a while we (the FD) have to cover security shifts if one of the guards is out, or the post needs to be open during off hours. Can't smoke on the facility and no computer.....sucks. But the pay is nice.

I work at a plant where my days off are Thursday and Friday, it never changes. The only time we get off for a holiday is if it happens to fall on our day off. At least I am off for Christmas this year

I watch security cameras on Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Sympathy you have, my friend...particularly when the person who's supposed to come in next doesn't. 16-hour shifts in a windowless room alone in front of computer screens on the weekend FTW.
