Question Any great client gift ideas?

Alright, it's that fun time 'o year, parties, eggnog & gifts to buy oh my!

I'm having a hard enough time thinking of gifts for family and I'm usually quite creative in my giftgiving to clients but I'm having a little difficulty thinking of ideas.

Due to policy, I must limit my gifts to no more than $100 per person so that REALLY limits my ability to show my clients/friends how much I care for them and the business they've given me in this tough year. And I know it's not the amount of the gift but the gesture but...

I'm looking for some FABULOUS and unique ideas....anybody have any great gift ideas this year for clients?

Last year, I found a super deal on digital photo frames and pre-loaded pics of us hanging out on in there. I also included pics of their kids that over time they've sent me. Big hit.

I've done the wine thing and I do know that you can personalize bottles which is cool. One year I actually went to a place and made wine & the labels for the wine and shipped 'em out. I've also sent out nice, large format bottles of decent wine and have included the Robert Parker/Wine Spectator/etc. rating & review.

Some clients smoke cigars but again, the $100 cap makes boxes tough.

I've done the massage gift certificate. I've even offered my personal massage services....just kiddin.

What's everybody else doin' this year?

Re: Any great client gift ideas?

I own my own business and this has challenged me as well this year. I've got a select few clients who helped keep me from eating ramen noodles all year.

I've thought of the obligatory fruit/wine/cheese/chocolate basket - but that is played out. Last year I had these travel clocks with company name/logo as a lot of my clients are in the field a lot, but nobody seemed too impressed.

One client that I know is a hockey fan might get a pair of great tickets and another lives in FL and loves to fish and get drunk.

Not a real answer here but this year I've tried to get to know my clients better and I'm shooting for some nice personal gifts. The economy makes it tough to do too much. Very interested to see what others say.

Re: Any great client gift ideas?

Love that Cohiba gift set, I think Santa may bring that to me this year. OK, well maybe the UPS guy once I order it.

Here's one I really like, the Csonka Traveler - has everything you need for a weekend away or a herf. Cutter, hygro, humidifier, matches... Runs $45.00-$50.00 and you can toss in a few sticks and still keep it <$100.00.

How about a personal visit, a firm handshake, and a heartfelt thank you? I think that would speak more loudly than any token gift.

You know, it's amazing how much this actually helps, you're absolutely right. I travel a lot and think face-time is so important. A phonecall is nice as opposed to an email, but nothing beats quality time, one on one, in person. While I do do this during the year, I also like to give holiday gifts, though but I like your style!

Gary, too damn funny. I send out Shari's Berries all the time! How'd you know? They do a great job!

Oh, btw, I just got their latest catalog in the mail; if anyone wants the 20% discount code, I can give it to you later (I left the catalog at home).

Re: Any great client gift ideas?

GPS? I don't know how well the 100$ units work but they are out there. Pretty darn useful too, assuming they work well.

Scotch is a nice gift if it fits the person you've giving it too.
