Dealing with annoying co-workers..

So I work in a pretty typical office cube-farm setup and have one co-worker, who is actually a nice guy, who literally "appears" in my cube 2-3 times a day. normally when I walk up to a cube I'll give it a quick tap to let whoever I'm going to see know I'm there. This guy will just stand there until you turn around and never has anything to say other than "What's up?" or "What are you working on?"

I constantly joke about it, but he doesn't seem to get the point. Like today I just noticed a funny "Albino Bowler" figure one of my co-workers ahs in his cube and he says "Oh, you didn't know that was there?" I responded "No, but then again I'm not popping in his cube 3-4 times a day, either."

I have mirrors place in strategic places so I can see behind me, I dont like getting surprised.

Make a door out of cardboard and mount it to your cube wall, then put a sign on there saying "Please Knock" or maybe "No Hablo Ingles".

As an alternative you could let out a blood-curdling scream whenever he appears and then just say calmly, "Oh, you scared me."

I don't even have the luxury of a cubicle; I'm on a long desk of fellas & there's another one right behind me (the boss is on this one right behind me) and so on & so on & so on.

And you can still surf CS, I have a cube six fet tall and about 8x8 of course its a Mgr cube, but im not.

I got a couple guys here like that... drives me fuggin nuts. I just ignore them or shoot out one word answers and then blatantly ignore them. I hate being like that with people, but I REALLY can't stand people snooping over my shoulder, and these offenders do it ALL THE TIME.

One of my biggest office pet peeves for sure.

Why not get a bell tape it to your cube wall with a sign that says "Ring for Service" completely ignore him until he rings the bell....

Oh, you have a cubicle 'sidler.' The only way to deal with people like that is to give them a container of Tic-Tacs so you can hear them coming.

That's straight up annoying. I can't believe people would just do that. I always knock when I'm at someones desk or office. Give the mirrors a try. It will help you from getting caught off guard.

I usually go with the pencil to the side of the neck... but i guess the pen in eye thing works too lol

A lot of the cubicle folks here have mirrors set up in funny places. One guy has those two round mirrors you stick on the outside of the side mirrors on your car that are meant for trailers and towing.

Go to the auto parts store and mount an actual rear view mirror on your monitor or something. That would be awesome.
