Talking to a girl you really like is hard chit man, I am the same way as Nick when it comes to talking to a girl you like especially when I was in high school. Women have the ability to take a guys emotions chew them up and spit them back out. That aint fun. Now that Im in college I have kinda had to learn to man up and talk to them but it still sucks trying to hold a convo with a really hot girl.

Basically the girl is right. Possibly 14 years down the road you'll find out after much heartache that y'all always wanted something more, perhaps hook up with her and maybe hurt someone who had no idea of the existing love in the process. You are unavailable to anyone else, and it could be that you hold out on half of your heart just waiting to see if she'll come around. That is no way to live. I'm SURE people her have stories on both side of this spectrum.

PS Both sides of the spectrum suck.

And if all of our teasing and prodding doesn't get you motivated i don't know what will, besides threats of violence and stalker her to find out where she lives so that your love for her can be known (that just might freak her out more, be careful )

Take it from a fella who made the same mistake many years ago when I was about your age. I let one slip by that could've very well been the one, and I still think of her on occassion. I've since lost touch and no longer know her whereabouts, and regret it. I wish I would have clued her in when I had the chance. There's a valuable lesson there.....

Nick, I am a 24 year old professional drinker and womanizer. By that, I mean I am a musician. I wish I was in your position man. I would love to find a girl who shared my interests and could keep my attention. I fell for one hard when I was your age, told her how I felt, and she let me down gently. It hurt like hell, but I cowboyed up and felt better soon after. Now, a fewyears down the road, it was all for the better. I wouldnt be in the position I am in right now, and I wouldnt have had the opportunity to do some of the crazy things that I have done if I were committed to a girl. Guys, I've read so much here that I've heard from other friends.. A lot of stuff that made me laugh... A lot of stuff that's true... No umbrage taken from anyone, you're all right.. and I know it.. I just suck at talkin to women that I'm interested in... Any other woman, I'm fine... just her... Sucks, eh?

Anyway... rather than typing a response to each post, I'll make one response.

First: I appreciate everyone taking the time to chime in with their advice, or hell, just to poke fun, whatever. You're all like family here, and I appreciate it.

Second: You're all right. I need to tell her. No matter what happens, it's better than just sitting here pining. You know it. I know it. I just can't DO it.. I just keep making excuses: She just broke up with her last boyfriend, can't do it on the phone, it's too late, I'm drunk, whatever . Honestly though, I don't think a phone call is the way to do it.

Third:... I actually don't have anything else to say right now, I'm not thinking very well.. which is odd, cuz I just slept for 19 hours (most I've ever slept, I think)... Screwed up sleep schedule catching up with me...

So, thanks for the support/advice/whatever guys.. I'll do it eventually... maybe sooner, as opposed to later, as it seems one of our brethren has actually discovered her email.... and I will endeavor to not piss him/her off, so he/she doesn't do anything stupid on my behalf.

anyway illuminatus if you dont say something, you're a chump.. I mean no ill-will and i dont want anyone to think i am belittling you here but this is the deal.. ( in a rather over-sized nutshell)

If you care for her, as much as you say you do, then you would want what is best for her....right??? anyway, you have seen and heard of her previous relationships, which if they were all that good (or she was all that happy) they would still be going on.. Well, they are not.. So, she is not all that happy.. Why wouldnt you, as a man who wants to make her happy, tell her how you feel, so that you can START making her happy.. Instead of sitting on your ass, and letting the girl suffer through bad relationships with asshole guys, and there are ALOT of them out there ( I may even be one, depends on who you ask). She has been hurt, heart has been mis-treated, and her feelings have been dis-regarded, all the while a great guy has been sulking around afraid to say something.. When he, aka you, are the one she needs....someone to put her first, someone to support her, someone to treat her like a princess.

Listen, if you dont tell her how you feel for yourself and your own happiness, do it for her.. Because that it what it is all about, HER HAPPINESS. And the sooner you realize that, the better life will be for you will be......the both of you..
