Is it me or has the daily post count gone waaaaay down in recent history? It was not so long ago that each and every day I would check in and ALWAYS would have 10 full pages(max aloud) of new posts and there use to be no limit and I would get around 15. Now I can stay off for several days and still not have a full ten pages of posts. Today in fact I only had 4 and the forth only had 1 thread on it. Weird? Any thoughts?

Hey Pete; the holidays have definitely been a factor while folks are out shopping, partying, looking for jobs, etc.

I thought of that but I have been here for just over 4 years and actually we have more posts during this period. You may be right though since as the years pass I do not see the same names as much. I hope you fall into the shopping and partying and not the looking for jobs.

Ha, fortunately I'm not in the latter crew....yet....thank you.

I do know that a lot of fellas have moved on, fearing the merger into Puff, so that too could be why you're not seeing the same names that you've seen during your time on here. I do know too, however, that there are a lot of new folks, making great contributions to the forum, so I'm confident it'll pick up even more.

I was referring more to over the years names have changed but now that you mention it I think you may be on to something...I'll give it a try as I do not belong to any other message board. Time will tell.

Things have definitely slowed down around here. I'm hoping that it has to do more with the time of year and that things will pick up after the new year.

Its odd I know but I used to post alot during the summer when I smoked more cigars now that its too damn cold to sit outside and smoke one Ive been posting less. Man I wish it was spring/summer

A lot of people left to use other boards. I didn't follow the entire thing, but I believe its because the site was sold to someone else.

I too have noticed the post count being down since Thanksgiving. Maybe it's the holidaze.

I can't notice that there's been any change due to the merger. But, some have moved to other boards. So, I spend more time looking at two boards and less time posting.

Another thing is that, after awhile, there doesn't seem to be anything left to discuss. It's like "deja vu" all over again I think folks get a bit bored and skip over a lot of threads and don't post as much.

Yeah. You can only read the same jokes over and over again so many times.

There is also a tendency to close threads for no apparent reason.
This certainly discourages people from posting.

Sometimes when legitimate queries have not been addressed, for example<.

But then on the glass half full routine, with the new servers and less traffic you get > "This forum requires that you wait 10 seconds between searches." (Formally 30 seconds) Which is important when you want to find something from the past.
