Your favorite heist movie

This was on the internet today.

You know the drill: A handful of professionals. An impregnable fortress. An elaborate plan that calls for a veritable concert of individual efforts performed with split-second timing. A fortune at the end of the mission. Oh, yes, and the getaway, so often the loose thread in an otherwise well-crafted plan.

Whats your all time favorite.

Kelly's Heros.

The Dirty Dozen is a classic...
The Great Raid was a good flick that is a true story that came out last summer about a raid on a Japanese POW camp to rescue a several hundred prisoners.

Dirty Dozen was a good flick. With all those actors at a young age. Then they all went on to do there own thing. Great exposure for all of them.

Construction of the faux chateau proved *too* good. The script called for it to be blown up, but the construction was so solid that 70 tons of explosives would have been needed to achieve the effect! Instead, a section was rebuilt from cork and plastic.

I'd go with Kelly's Heros too.

On a side note, about a month and a half ago, while watching the tube with the mrs. I said 'I'm surprized they haven't made a remake of 'It Takes A Thief' (they've done everything else now). This week I see previews for Vegas and the situation calls for the worlds master thief, who does James Cahn call but Robert Wagner!

Sometimes I think my house is bugged by the networks

OT (sorry PJ)

Greatest Heist Flicks of all time has to be with Steve McQueen and they have made remakes of both, but not as good as originals:

"The Thomas Crown Affair"

"The Getaway"

Also an old film noir (black and white) starring Sterling Hayden:

"The Killing"

If you haven't seen these, then you haven't seen a Heist film!

They had that German U-boat and took on the Queen Mary. Did you know that Rod Serling was one of the writers for that movie.

Ya know I didn't, but the more I think about it, I can see his fine hand in something like that.
