Goin to an AA meeting
Woweeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I have not had a drink in a week. My daughter quit too. We are goin to a meeting together and one of of the benefits is I have more money for cigars. :lol My step mom died over a week ago and I saw one of my cousins that is a vietnam vet and a real bad alcoholic. He has been clean for 14 months and almost died from pancreatitis and liver failure. He seemed to say the right things to me that motivatedme. I don't want to go through what he did. I am two years younger than him. Wish me luck. I willneed it.I was drinkinga half gallon of vodka every two to three days for about two years. I am 55 this next month and its time to stop this crap.

Thanks guys. I made this a 4 cigar day. More money for smokes. However I could not believe the first guy I saw at the meeting that actually greeted me............He is the guy that molested my grand daughter. Ughhhhh! I could not say anything to him and almost walked out. He sat at the table my daughter was at and actually told the story about this to the group. I was shocked. He balledhis eyes out and apolgised to my daughter. I don't think I could ever forgivehim butmy daughter says she has no hatred for him anymore. I would like to take him in the woods and torture him befor killing him. Ughhhh

Bang, I know the feeling and can appreciate it a lot...but would it change anything? I know you would like to believe it would make you feel better, and it might...but think about being there for you grand-daughter...and all the great times you wil have with her in the future...if you did anything to the scumball, they would treat it as if you did something to a human...life's full of injustice...it's not fair, but its the way it is...

Hell yeah! just know those feelings pass, never completly but they pass.

My situation is different, I've seen so many friend die, because of alchol and drugs, its not even appealing to me any more.

I was a binge drinker, not on a daily basis, but once something set me to drinking, I drank for days, not a particully nice way to live a life.

I've been thinking about it alot lately, works slow, kinda lonely, but am I going to shoot a bottle of Tequila, NO, just fix another pot of coffee and smoke another cigar.

hope this helps, your not alone, don't worry about tomorrow, just don't drink today.

The cigars do help. I find them more relaxing than drinking. I smoked 4 of them yesterday. goin to the shop for my weekend smokes friday. Ok......my daughter and I have decided to forgive the creep and move on with our recovery. However we will never be friends again and I will not socialize with him other than at he aa meetings. I wa very impressed that he told the AA group what he did while balling his eyes out. I also learned he has been going to meetings since he got out of prison. Its not worth it to my daughter and I to continue hating this guy. Time to move on. He was also very concerned about how my grand daughter was doing. He is extremely remorseful. I feel much better now that I have let this go. Now I just want to kill his nephew.

Thats funny you should say that. My Therapist says considering my history,training,and special talents I am cpuld be extremely dangerous and she wants me to call her immediately if I start feeling unstable. Right now I feel pretty good.

I am changing my eating habbits with hopes of getting off a med myself .... and still live....

Yep......seems like anice group here. I spent at least 40 bucks on smokes so far this week.
