Toyota factory receiver w/ a Panasonic 8 disc changer, which is ancient technology now. I would rather have a single CD player w/ MP3 playback.
I replaced the factory speakers with Sony Xplod replacements.

Yea, I used to be all about that bass thump. My next system will have a good set of speakers and a decent amount of tight bass.

Re: Car Stereo Systems, amps, speakers, and wiring...

Heres what I got in my car, Havent tested it yet, but im guessing its around 120ish decibles

Headunit: Pioneer DEH-P2600

Door Speakers Amp: Rockford Fosgate p2002 amp (forgot wattage... but its powerful)
Front Door Speakers: Pioneer 6.5" 4-way speakers
Back Door Speakers:Rockford Fosgate 4" 2-way speakers

Subs amp: Alpine m350 700W mono amp, bridged, running about 350W to each sub. Ported Prefab Box.
Subs: 2 10" Sony Xplod 1200W subwoofers

Here is my cardomain site. It's got pictures of everything but the door speakers... I also have 2 little factory tweaters up in the front, but I cant tell how much difference they make...

Since I've updated the cardomain site i've added a pioneer iPod adapter that uses the Headunits IPbus system to control the iPod, or you can just use the iPod itself... Once we get a new digicam (old one broke) I'll update the pictures..

Re: Car Stereo Systems, amps, speakers, and wiring...

In the 70's and 80's, I used to be big in this stuff. Older age has caused me to mellow a bit. I now have a single cd Eclipse in dash, four Eclipse 6 inchers in four corners of the car, and a Bazooka Sub out back. Sounds pretty good to me. Way better than my 65 Olds with Bass 48 speakers and an FM converter.

Re: Car Stereo Systems, amps, speakers, and wiring...

I have a enormous ported box with 2 solo baric 15" L7's being pushed by a memphis 1500 ( i believe) with a capacitor (don't do shit, I wouldn't invest in this), a high power altenator upgrade (this ownz a capacitor), a punch 250 amp pushing 2 RF 6x9's and 4x6's. This has cracked my windshield twice. Solo Barics are amazing but you have to have them in a ported box and with alot of airspace to really get what you want out of them!

And here is the g-ride.

And I want to sell the g-ride to get another car like my old car.

AMAZING... I ran the wire that connects to the bottom of the iPod, from the glovebox (only place i had the space to mount it) to the center console, where i hook up the iPod, It's convient and a good out of view spot to put the iPod, and you can still look down and see whats playing... I'll post a pic in a minute..

sweet system!

How are the Kicker square subs? i've heard that they tend to lose sound quality after a while due to uneven ware on the square cone.

I disagree on the capacitor.... it does wonders, especially with an amp that big. Batteries do not like to put out high amperage in quick bursts, so the capacitor will save you cash in the long run by reducing stress on the battery.

Re: Car Stereo Systems, amps, speakers, and wiring...

I dont think they lose quality, maybe my ears are damaged but they still slap very hard. They might tho, but either way, they outslam most of the competition. And as far as the cap, after one bass thump...its drained...idk...i regret buying mine for the price, rather get a better alt. or an extra battery...they are rather expensive. Thx for the compliment and the input tho bro!
