Ram. I had a Ford Station Wagon, White with the Woody panels on it.
I looked just like freaking Chevy Chase tooling down the highway with the family. That car had options to run the options. I do miss it. Was one of the best highway cars I have ever owened.

Yeah. That's the ticket.

Here is why today SUCKS.

Ok. I got a couple of beer's in me now and I can express my feeling about the U.S. Army regs. on getting a license to drive a motorcycle.

You see. They have these kids (18 to 22 years) old that are getting these crock rockets and in 2 weeks of having their license are taking corners too fast and ending up with a Full Military Funeral because they can't understand that a bike is not a bicycle.

So, in order to ride a scooter here in Germany under the SOFA status. You have to pass a written and driving test for motorcycles. I say Humbug.

I have been a Licensed motorcycle driver in the states for the last 30 years.

So, here I am a 55 year old man with short term memory loss trying to pass a written test to get my MC license. So, I miss 4 out of 30 questions and fail the test. Well, guess what. There is no more chances to take the MC license on the base. I have to go into town and pay 300 Euro's and take a riding test set by the Germans. Then I go back to the base and they stamp my SOFA status license with the MC endorsment.

So, why are they making such a big deal out of the written exam. I am just so pissed off that the Road King will have to sit in the garage for who knows how long until I get this Certificate from the German Govt. saying that I know how to ride a scooter.

I have been here for some time now and, doing quite well driving all around Europe. Sometime I just don't understand the U.S. thinking on all the things they do and so on.

So, that's why today sucks and every other day will suck until I put out 300 Euro's ($390.00) U.S to get my U.S. Forces Certificate of License stampted with a MC endorsement.

So, the Harley sits. Maybe I will ride the wooden one around the block tonight.

And, if you can understand what I just ranted about then maybe I need a few more beer's.

Have a great day, BOTL

That does suck.....

I would gladly pay 400 bucks to be able to ride those German roads with you bro.... I know it sucks... but you have a once in a life time chance.

The money is a pain, but when we are all dead... who gives a shit about $$$ anyways.....

Sorry to hear that brother!! Reminds me of a professor I had in college. He taught a Superintendent certification class to people who wanted to be school superintendents. He was from West Virginia & decided since he taught the class in Ohio, he should get certified in Ohio (he was only certified in WV). The state refused to certify him saying he needed an "Ohio Cert. Class". He told them HE TAUGHT IT & they still wouldn't budge. He could have taken it from a colleague, but refused out of principal!! Stupid typical gov't. BS!!

Ok. We are riding now. Plates are on and logged 110 miles today. Sorry, no time for cigars just riding the wind. Going to take her up to Ramstein this weekend to watch the son play football.

Maggie ran her first race this past weekend and broke her own record by 57 seconds. Life is good. Ride the wind.

Found out that if I went to Ramstein in the first place all they want is US Forces Certificate License, Stateside MC License, and MSF card. Not written test, no driving test. Went up on Friday and they looked at my documents and stamped my shit. Now, that's the Air Force for you. God Damm Army grunts make everything so hard. I will take some awesome pix's this weekend and post. I am on the road and loving it.
