Re: allman brothers

Same guitarists in both bands. More of a hippie sound to the Mule though. Both great stuff. If you want, pm me your addy and I'll get you some Mule.

If you're interested in live Govt Mule shows check out my intro to live music trading - specifically the section on BitTorrent. Then go to bt.etree.org's section for Govt Mule downloads. It looks like there's a bunch of shows being seeded right now.

Please note - this music is completely legal and by permission of the band. Etree.org is very careful about what bands they allow trading of.

Re: allman brothers

The Allman Brothers Band is one of my all time favorites. Saw the Original band with Duane many times at the old Boston Tea Party. They played there often. Over the years have seen them in small venues and large outdoor settings. They never disappoint.

Warren Haynes and Government Mule are truly one of the premier jam bands, definetly worth checking out.

Thumbs up Re: allman brothers

One of my favorite bands, saw them back '79 when Dickey Betts was with them on the Enlighted Rogues tour, swear like they didn't want to stop playing that night. I saw them again about '94 and they still sounded great, classic stuff. Sounds like a great night out.

Re: allman brothers

i've been a fan since the first two albums. live at the fillmore is still a must have cd on a road trip. they can really play the blues, even if they did rip it off from some old black guys. they are a great improvisational band live and greg allman is a truly mean blues singer. warren haynes can really play the blues, one song on the seven turns album haunts me every time i hear it. duane allmann was a true music star who never had enough time to shine.
