Cycle's March MADNESS!!!!!!

And I am not talking basket ball. ( I could give a rat's about that sport).

I really need a change in my life so I am going to open up a bit here and am looking for my brother's support and idea's.

I have nothing planned in March....... I have not made much effort towards my goals in 2008 resolutions....... and I get a bit depressed. Only "I" can make changes in my life so tonight I thought I would spark it up a bit and see if I can look FORWARD to March 2008 and see if I can make some dramatic changes in my life and see what happens. If I fail... please don't think me a looser. Here are some thoughts I plan on focusing on at the end of next week:

1) No booze for the ENTIRE MONTH ON MARCH! No beer... wine... taquelia...... nothing. I don't think I have gone a FULL MONTH with no booze...... for decades.

2) No Smoking. Yes that means no cigars for 4 weeks. Which has already made me smoke 2 AWESOME smokes tonight!! If I fail something... it will be THIS gaol.

3) No spending. I mean NO SPENDING.... except for regular life stuff. Food, Gas, dry cleaning...... I have a huge tax bill to handle in April and I really wanted to spend less this year and invest more.....

4) I WILL,,,,,,, join a gym again (haven't worked out sense Dec)...

5) Low LOW fat intake. No to little sugar. NO CAFFINE. And reseach more about the anti-cancer diet a friend of mine just talked to me about. She just went through a year of breast cancer challenges and she said this did wonders for her.

6) I WILL,,,,,,, spend more time with my music. That Martin has recieved so little attention and it really upsets me.

You all know I am a bit obessive compulsive with my collections and if I add that to some possitive things for my life..... maybe I can make some real changes. I have NO desire to stop drinking forever..... and NO desire to give up cigars that I enjoy so much..... but for 4 weeks.... I think a focus could really make March more interesting than it looks like it will be. AND.......... I will be ready as hell to smoke and drink with your butts in PA in April....

wish me luck,,,,,,,,,

Cycle

I say go for it CM. I think we could all try to be more healthy/responsible. I to am guilty of drinking, smoking, and spending too much. Last 2 weeks I went kind of crazy on c-bid. Since then I stopped even looking at what bids were going for. I also started working out and dieting much harder than I normally do.

I have not stopped drinking and smoking though, but I should probably take a "sabbaticle."

Maybe I should be do it with you, we could be moral support.

Good luck bruddah. I have had 2 beers since Christmas and feel a lot better for it. Not to mention having lost that "holiday weight" quickly.

I will smoke more in March... Just for you.

Good luck on meeting your goals. Just make sure that IF you do break one, it is the smoking one. A good smoke can turn a crappy day from brown to a light green hue .
J/K. Good Luck!

I need to find time to work out/exercize, but with my job and work schedule, it is tough to fit it in. I don't have "holiday weight", I have "life weight" . And don't even get me started on my spending .

Ok, just got off the phone with my broker telling him to short all the cigar stocks, in anticipation of a drop off in revenues in March......
Good for you! Change and hope! How can you go wrong?

I wish you the best of luck!!! Of course you could have chosen a month with fewer days, but hey, you are a gambler!!

I could really stand to to incorporate numbers 1, 3 and 5 (except the coffee, part. I love my morning coffee)

2 - too cold out. Only smoking 1x/week max
4 - already go regular, but not as much as I should
6 - we always have an ipod hooked up to the stereo, but yes, Dean and Frank haven't enjoyed much airtime since the holidays.

Removing distractions in life can help you focus on what is really important. March should be a good month for you. I'd recommend starting/continuing a journal through the month. It will help you look back and see what changes you went through and how certain things affected you. Start Day one and write a few paragraph about your mental, physical and emotional state, and then write a few paragraphs at the end of the month. This will give you a good comparison to evaluate the results.

Good Luck Brother!!

I wish you great luck, I am going to do something similar.

I started out last summer at 285 pounds, I was down to 240 pounds until in Dec I hurt my foot. I am at 260 pounds, and I want to have a goal of 200 sometime by the end of the year. My fall down the stairs messed that up some.

I have not been sleeping great lately, so I am going to kick the cigars aside for a few weeks to see if that is my issue.
