What the heck is the Army thinking.

My son has show an interest in joining the military and is in JROTC. He seen the Army add on TV and wanted to see the video they send. So I called the 100 number a few months back and requested one. Came in the mail today. They also included a Bonnie hat. I thought hey cool, he can wear it at the ranch and all. Told him since he was in the Marine JORTC that it might not be wise to be seen by his ROTC leaders in a army had at school.

So I was checking it out and inside on the label was MADE IN CHINA


WTF is with that. Didn't the military realize they mistake then made when they had the new berets made in China. I just do not get the way our government thinks at times. Just makes me mad.

Tempted to just trash the dang thing.

A gimmick, but man what does that say to the youth today. Army sends something and it's made in China.


That is as bad as a friend of my from Germany who got her citizenship and the little flag they gave her had and a made in china sticker. She was a little upset about that on a day that should have been great for her. Just drives me nuts.

Personally, I could give the Army/Govt. some slack on the hat, but they've gone too far with the flag. I was born in Thailand, with a Thai mom, but I'm an American above anything else. One that that pisses me off is when somebody Fs with the flag. It's offensive to me to find that many of our flags are made in China.

I remember going to an Oriole game where they passed out tiny little American flags. You wouldn't believe how many of them were left on the deck. I gave my daughter (5 YO at the time) crap about playing with it like a toy. Gotta teach them young to respect it.

I did get an American flag from the base exchange on my last trip to Afghanistan, made in the U.S.A! Had it flown up and given honors...on Sept. 11, 2005 even. I've got to find a nice shadow box for it.

there's a place on post here where the "inmates" make all that cool stuff for cheap. the store is right behind where i work, and i got my wife a huge wrought iron bakers rack for like $100 or somethin... they also make coins, etc. etc.

People would be surprised at how many Flags are made in China, including the American Flag, The Confederate Flag, Marine flags, Army Flags, Almost any flag from any nation is Made in China. This includes Battle flags and such also. Sad but that's how things are now a days.

My father sells Flags of different types. People will come into his place and ask for American, Confederate, Mexican(large hispanic population where i live), Army, just about any kind of flag. He carries both the ones made in China and the ones made in America. The American made flags cost more, but are of higher quality. People will ask if these flags are Made in USA. Dad will tell them they are but cost more than the Made in China ones. 9 out of 10 people will pay almost double the price for the Made in USA flags. My faith in the American people is still there. I guess just wonder who would want an American Flag made from china. Just because it is cheap.

I fly an American Flag and a Texas Flag on my house, both made in china I am afraid (got them at Dollar Tree) but I would rather fly them than not fly colors at all.
