I like my doctor

I ended up having a different doctor do my surgery yesterday than planned due to scheduling conflicts. I like the second doctor, the one who actually did the surgery. He wanted me out of it for a couple days so he gave me percocets and valium! He said usually they only give percocet for hernia surgery, but he likes to give guys with muscles valium as well. He said it is to ensure the muscles don't spasm in the area of the surgery because it feels like a horse kicked you in the junk when it does. I am glad he did that because I don't want to feel like a horse kicked me in the junk. It has succeeded in keeping me pretty out of it since I had surgery yesterday. I won' t be taking the valium after today since that is how much he gave me.

Nothing today. I haven't been downstairs yet and I won't smoke inside the house (don't like smoke around the kids). I will venture out tomorrow to have my first smoke after surgery.

Glad to hear you are doing well! Enjoy the valiums; those are so good I almost smiled when they, um, took care of my, um, reproductive abilities

Hope for a quick recovery for ya

Glad to hear it went well. Be very careful of lifting anything and just take it easy. I had a small umbilical hernia taken care of about 7-8 years ago and needed to take it nice and easy for a while.

Yeah, they told me not to lift anything for 2 weeks (told my wife she will have to hold it for me while I urinate so I don't strain myself), then nothing over 10 lbs for another 2 weeks. So basically I shouldn't do much for about a month. I will head back to work on the 3rd of September since I just sit at a desk and don't lift anything.

Andrew: Not sure what type of surgery you are getting but I hope it goes as well as mine went. Mine went smoothly and am feeling pretty well right now. Doctor did say that not much was "out" anymore, but the hole was a lot larger than expected.

Yeah I'm a little nervous about it (the only other surgery I had was removing my wisdom teeth). I'm getting a vasectomy so I'm really hoping my boys dont hurt to much

You should be fine. I have had numerous surgeries over the past 5 years, although I never had my boys snipped. My wife got fixed when she had our youngest daughter, so I don't have to worry about any snipping! Hope all goes well.

I have been a bed potato since surgery on Tuesday afternoon (I got home around 1900). I think I will venture outside for a cigar tonight and then move to the couch tomorrow. I am definitely taking it easy since I do not want to have another one of these.

You'll be alright. Did he get you a valium to take before hand? That made me think it was just like going to the mini-mart. My buddy was so laid back after taking one for his snipping, he walked up to the check in nurse, leaned back on the counter and said "I'm here to get my nuts chopped" When his wife told us about that we laughed forever. But it does hurt afterwards so make sure to take it SUPER easy the entire weekend and avoid sweating - that's what leads to infections

Sorry 'bout the threadjack...

No worries about the threadjack. I have taken the last valium that they prescribed me. They don't really do anything for me. I didn't feel anything after taking them.

Glad it went smoothly Skeletor. Physicians who understand the use of chemicals are a good thing.

And Drew, the snip and tuck will be so easy. The most irritating thing about mine was the scrotal prickling as the hair grew back. That and the doc saying, "Uh oh..." when he was tying off the last vas deferens stump and dropped it..... never to be seen again. And yup, I'm serious.
