Man's Best Friend ~ R.I.P. Spain

I know many of you have received text photos...... this one below about a month or two ago.....

Its of my best friend, Eric, and his dog, Spain.

Like myself, Eric has past Law Enforcement experance.... and was also a K-9 cop. Spain, his sheppard....... partner...... and best friend....... passed away yesterday. He was 12...... and saved Eric's life on two different occasions........

I just wanted to post this in honor of such a fine Puppy...... friend.... partner and loving dog.

Please send any possitive thoughts..... or prayers.... Eric & Heather's way......

So many of you know JUST what he is going through. I know Jax's and Toby have faced this just this year....

Thanks for any possitive energy......

RIP Spain...... chase those tasty treats in the clouds.........

Sorry to hear about this.

Losing a friend and companion is hard to deal with .
Only people who have animal extensions of their families understand that they are more than just pets.

My thought go out to him and his family.

A friend of mine with an intuitive grasp of the obvious was hanging out at my office one day when a "crash and burn" hit by car emergency came in. As we were getting IV fluids and shock treatment instituted, the pup heard his owners voice, wagged his tail and was gone. With tears in his eyes my friend Chris said, "Dogs are good." That pretty much covers it.

Had the opposite of that happen.. About 11 years ago I got a puppy chihuahua named Pablo. Well due to military stuff and moving from Cincy to Columbus my grandpa watched him for me. Well my grandpa fell in love with him and so as much as I wanted to keep him, i let my grandpa keep him. A few years later my grandpa was in the hospital on life support and unresponsive. Well, my dad snuck Pablo in to see my grandpa and finally my grandpa responded and started petting Pablo. Later on my grandpa regained consciousness and is still alive and kicking today and so is Pablo.

My thoughts are with Eric.

I'm young enough and lucky enough to still have my best friend, an eleven year old scrappy little rat terrier named Taco. He's had a rough year undergoing a splenectomy due to cancer. He still has a lot of spirit and I'll cherish the time I have left.
