slightly more, but I recommend this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6830120253

I've always bought Canon because they take awesome shots and are very compact.

Unless you are blowing pictures up to poster size you will never notice the difference between a 6 MP and a 12 MP camera

you know it cm

life is pretty good considering how bad it could be

also, damn nice camera but a little pricey. I really don't take that many pics haha

You think that would be up to date for 3years or so? If so, it would probably be worth it

I'd go with that one.. I love Canon's as well. I like Nikon's too but those are a bit out of your range.

I just bought my gal a Nikon Coolpix L18 at BestBuy for $130. It's 8 MP and takes videos too. Reasons I picked it - it's small, it takes SD memory cards and it uses AA batteries as opposed to proprietary Lithium Ion batteries that cost $40-50 a pop when they wear out.

Here's a link to the one I got her:

keep in mind, that is a SD1100, NOT an 1100 IS which has the Image Stabilization.

Nice feature for action shots.
