I'm thinking of wearing my kilt when I come over for the spring herf, are there any laws prohibiting the wearing or carrying of knives, part of the outfit is carrying a SgianDubh in my hose (sock) and a Dirk (11" fighting knife) from my waistbelt....... am I likely to be shot? ..........arrested?.........raped?

Depends on the cop.

If they are an ass... they could dig ya for not having a conceled weapons permit.

Not sure about putting it in your luggage... I would think that is ok...

Striking little damascus blade that SgianDubh. What is the handle material? Very nice little weapon.

Here in Amerika, nobody will mess with a man wearing a dress. The sight is usually shocking enough to the point where nobody will even notice the knife.

Just being honest, it's all I can do.

Oh, the chicks will dig it for sure!!

As long as you are not brandishing or threatening anyone with them you should be fine. And yes, that goes for all things that can be brandished whilst wearing a kilt

Don't worry, they won't bother you. I've worn mine in NYC, and the cops just give you a little smile Nice blade, btw.

In Pennsylvania, you can even bring a Claymore if you'd like... just don't brandish it and you'll be fine.

Here's the PA State Law on knives, but I'll paraphrase by saying that the only illegal knives are switchblades:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pennsylvania - Pa. C.S.A. 18.908. Prohibited offensive weapons.

(a) Offense defined. -- A person commits a misdemeanor of the first degree if, except as authorized by law, he makes, repairs, sells, or otherwise deals in, uses, or possesses any offensive weapon.

(b) Exception. -- It is a defense under this section for the defendant to prove by a preponderance of evidence that he possessed of dealt with the weapon solely as a curio or in a dramatic performance, or that he possessed it briefly in consequence of having found it or taken it from an aggressor, or under circumstances similarly negativing any intent or likelihood that the would be used unlawfully.

(c) Definition. -- As used in this section "offensive weapon" means... any... dagger, knife, razor or cutting instrument, the blade of which is exposed in an automatic way by switch, push-button, spring mechanism, or otherwise...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope to see you there Brian!
