Needing members!

We still need some members for the Cuban Crafters panel and Bucanero panel so drop on by and join up. No other requirements than having to post a review.

Can't distinguish burning hair from oil from a monarch butterflies glands? (example just in jest)

Me either... but all that is required is a burning desire to try cigars and be able to post a review,

1. That member must do review in a timely manner such as within two weeks of receipt or the member will not be asked to participate in any tasting panels in the future.

2. Nose (pre-light smell of the tobacco---not wrapper, but the tobacco)
3. Burn/Aroma
4. Flavor/Strength
5. Finish (after-taste)
6. General Comments

Write only what you know, but be fair and honest, it can be short and straight to the point or as detailed as you want it to be. To make this work we need newbies (such as me) to experienced cigar smokers. Remember we are representing the cigar buying public as a whole.

2. That member must pick one person that they have not bombed and bomb that person within 3 weeks of the reciept of the cigars for the tasting panel. No requirements but I leave this to good judgement.

If you like the board, what it has to offer and wish to do something to help in it's operation by all means donate, there is a link on the homepage at the top right. If you can't afford much then donate what you can... remember it is all of us as individuals make this place a better place.

And I this IS open to the cigar press, cigar show podcasters and cigar bloggers. We feel as they will be blind then they would be fair and impartial without bias.

I think I made application to everything that was still open... <G> Not for the cigars of course, but just to do the reviews... <G Again>

Let me know if I missed any, and I'll apply to get in on those. Truthfully this is a very good idea, and I don't think it's being done anywhere else.

If it is it is a sponsored panel so it is more open to bias. This being open to the every man and not sponsored do not think will have these worries.

One great thing about making them blind (no band or markings) is even if one had preset prejudices against a certain manuf. then unless he WERE an expert would not be able to utilize these prejudices and bias his review.

As I stated above.. I am a newbie... will be for several years to come, I have a feeling but I think I will expand on my knowledge by participating... and maybe one day I can distinguish all the little nuances in taste in the various cigars... I do know wood when I taste it, spicy/peppery and grass... I think I have tasted a hint of chocolate in a couple but if I am not certain then I won't list it in the review. I do not ascertain to being a cigar snob and hope that others who can differentiate the different tastees will help me to understand what it is I may be tasting or to look out for...

I am glad that the cigar panels have begun to take place, we have several manuf on board but of course cannot name them (as of yet) but you would be amazed by the response received. I am sure their interest lies in the fact they will be getting the reviews straight from the horses mouth and not from a middle man or store contact.

I see this as being the future of other boards. We will be setting the bar in how old and new boards will operate and I for one am happy to be a part of it as I hope you all are or will be in the near future.

We are in this together and together we will have fun and hopefully Stogie will be generous enough to pay for each of our plane fares, hotels rooms and meal tickets to meet up and smoke one all together in person! (just joking Stogie)

Being Honest, I think were all newbie to some degree, Although ive been smoking for 20 years, I really just went for the pleasure of it. I never tried to discern tasts and rarely noticed construction. i just smoked for the pleasure of it. Now I am being more careful to the flavors and aromas. I am learning the different wrappers, Binders and fillers. Im far from where I would like to be, But I am keeping the priority straight...PLEASURE FIRST. The rest in due time.
