It's hard to say who they'll put the belt on. The NWA is like a cat with nine lives, but the lives HAVE to be coming to an end soon. Turner stabbed them and they came back. Paul E., REALLY stabbed them when Shane dissed the belt, and they came back. TNA almost single-handedly became the NWA, and they plan on coming back again.
I'll see if Hellcat (NWA Empire's owner) has heard anything regarding a new champion when I talk to him at the show on Saturday. Hellcat was contemplating running for NWA President one of these years. I'll have to ask him if he's still thinking about that. He really knows how to put butts into the seats. His shows in NWA Upstate (Rochster, NY) usually draw over 600. NWA Empire is a smaller fed running in a smaller venue, but they still draw in between 300-350 per show. Are you around the Buffalo area? If so catch the show on Saturday.

What part of Buffalo do you call home, puff?
CJ, if you feel like driving 2-1/2 hours south, NWA Central States is holding a show on June 2 (a saturday night) in Thayer, MO. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels is going to be on the show. At their last show they had both Tracy Smothers and Low-Ki (Senshi). They've also had the likes of Samoa Joe, Abyss, A.J. Styles, and Steve Corino on past shows. Their website is http://www.cswwrestling.com They are also holding a show on July 7 in Ottawa, KS, which is about 4 hours from you.

NWA Empire anniversary show results
A little late, but here are the results of NWA Empire's Anniversary show:
There's a new NWA Empire Champion, and a new NWA Empire Lord of the Dance Champion. Here are the results from NWA Empire's One-Year Anniversary Show which was held last Saturday (May 19, 2007) at St. Johnsburg Firehall in North Tonawanda, NY: The Killer Steves ("Studly" Steve McKenzie & "Mr. One-Night_Stand" Steve Kruz) beat The McCloud Brothers (Evan & Kyle) not once, but three times. The Steves beat the McClouds in about 10 seconds, taking them down as soon as the bell rang. The McClouds stated that they weren't ready the first time, so the Steves beat them again in just under a minute. Then the McClouds said that the Steves got lucky that time, so the Steves beat the brothers for the third time. The McClouds had no excuse the third time. NWA Empire Champion Hellcat defeated Derek Duncum in an impromptu match. Duncum came to the ring and claimed he has not gotten the proper respect he deserves from the Empire fans, calling the fans a bunch of losers. Hellcat, who happens to both NWA Empire and its' sister fed NWA Upstate, came out and told Duncum that he was not about to let him diss the fans that have supported this fed from its' exception. The fans were actually cheering for Hellcat, who until that point had been hated by the fans. Hellcat told Duncum that if he wanted to be a star he could prove it against him. Duncum controlled the early going of the impromptu match, but finally Hellcat mounted a comeback. As Hellcat was working Duncum over against the ropes, NWA Upstate Champion Brodie Lee, who Hellcat was facing later in the show in a title vs title match, ran out and attempted to take out Hellcat with a steel chair. However he accidentally hit Duncum with it instead, allowing Hellcat to score the pin. After the match, Hellcat grabbed the mic and told Brodie Lee that he was going to kick his ass later in their title vs title match and pay him back for the attempted chairshot. The All-Nighters (Kevin Grace & "Sexy Monkey" Robin Knightwing) spoiled the debut of the New Wrestling Inc. (Brandon Thurston & James Santelli) when Grace pinned Thurston following a nasty bump by the newest member of Wrestling Inc (Santelli) who landed on his head on the ring apron after being pushed off the ropes by Robin Knightwing while Santelli was setting up for a double-team move with Thurston. The Kovac Brothers (Matt & Michael) finally got a win in NWA Empire, when they teamed up with Ivan Radske to defeat the team of Tommy Mandrake, Spazz, and Dewey Rhodes (rookie Dewey was was dressed as Dusty Rhodes) In the title vs title match, NWA Upstate champion Brodie Lee came to the ring first and began running down the Buffalo fans. Hellcat came out and lead the fans in a "Brodie Sucks" chant. Hellcat told the fans they were about to see something special as he shows them who the true champion is in Western New York wrestling. Hellcat and Brodie went to lock up and as they did, Brodie Lee pushed Hellcat gently in the chest and Hellcat fell down like a ton of bricks, taking a dive and "laying down" for Brodie Lee. The ref counted to three and Brodie was handed the NWA Empire belt and held both the Empire and Upstate belts up in celebration. Hellcat grabbed the mic and told the fans that they learned a valuable lesson "never trust a Hellcat." The new NWA Empire champion Brodie Lee got on the mic and said that he was going to be a fighting champion. He said there was no one in either fed that could stop him, and to prove it he offered a shot at the NWA Empire title to anyone in the back. Out came "The Amazing" Pepper Parks to a HUGE pop from the crowd. Pepper Parks defeated Brodie Lee to win the NWA Empire Championship, making Brodie Lee's title rein the shortest in NWA Empire history, lasting just over 15 minutes. Pepper Parks actually had to fight three men in the match. He not only had to battle Brodie Lee inside the ring, but he had to contend with Hellcat's interference from the outside, and the shenanigans of Hellcat's hand-picked ref for the match, Mo Mantha, who was far from impartial. In fact, Parks had Brodie Lee beaten and pinned three times during the match prior to winning the belt, but Mo Mantha struck each time. The first time, Mantha delivered a count so slow that fans could have gone to the snack bar for a slice of pizza and gotten back to their seats by the time he counted to two. Of course Brodie kicked out at the two count. The second time, Mantha counted to two then feigned a should injury that made it impossible for him to slap the mat for the third time. The third time Parks had Brodie Lee beaten, Mantha did not feign anything! He simply refused to get down on th mat and and make the count. At this point the fiery Parks had had enough of Mo Mantha. he got up and began to argue with Mantha, who made the mistake of shoving Pepper. Parks responded with a vicious super-kick that laid Mantha out cold. Hellcat got up on the apron and tried to attack Parks, but Pepper blocked the blow and smacked Hellcat across the jaw, sending him sprawling to the floor. Parks and Brodie brawled for another 30 seconds or so and Parks finally hit an amazing tilt-a-whirl slam and covered Lee. Referee Cindy Synn ran in from the back to issue the thee-count and awarded the NWA title to Parks. Just about everyone in the place was waiting for a "Dusty finish" where Mo Mantha would come to and announce that he was disqualifying Pepper Parks for striking him, but that didn't happen. The decision was allowed to stand, and Pepper Parks is the new NWA Empire Champion. The Jump Off (Gabe Saint & Maximo Suave) defeated Brett Mednik & J.P. Hawke, Cade Cassidy & Ice, and Final Solution (Eric Everlast & Ron Falco) in a four-way tag match. The teaming of Everlast and Falco was unexpected and received very warmly. They had been one of the most dominant teams in ESW (the fed that NWA Empire replaced last year) but had been feuding in NWAE since last June. Cheech defeated his former Up-in-Smoke partner Cloudy in the first one- on-one encounter between them since Cloudy turned on Cheech last December at an NWA Upstate show. Jimmy Olsen defeated "Fabulous" John McChesney with a roll-up in a definite match of the night candidate. Rhythm & Booze (Buddy Delmar & Frank the Tank) successfully defended the NWA Empire Tag Team Championship against The Roadies (Sammy Dunn & Dave Marcos) using one of the title belts to assure the victory. Colin Olsen won the NWA Empire Lord of the Dance (three-way) Championship defeating champion "The Mastiff" Will Christianson & Damien Alexander when he pinned Mastiff. After the match, and angry Mastiff grabbed the title belt and refused to allow the referee to award it to Olsen. He finally relented and threw the belt at Olsen before storming angrily to the back. Troy Buchanan won a six-man elimination match, last eliminating "Inferno" Johnny Adams. The order of elimination was D-to-the-Icky S- to-the-anchez, Chris Cooper, Van Atlas, Ian Decay, and Adams. The main event was the highly anticipated Loser Leaves New York State match that had been ordered by NWA Empire owner Hellcat. Hellcat has wanted the popular Jonny Puma out of NWA Empire since the fed opened a year ago. He finally ordered "The Suicide Messiah" Marc Mandrake to face the Puma, who Mandrake had trained and began in the wrestling business with, in this loser leaves NYS match. The match was a brutal and bloody affair, with both Puma and Mandrake busted open during the match. In the end, Mandrake attempted to hit Puma with a barbed wire board but Puma ducked and Marc struck his wife Ferrari, who was outside the ring, instead. Mandrake, upset over his mistake, fell victim to Puma putting him through a table that had been set up in a corner. He then covered Mandrake for the three count. After the match, Mandrake (who in real life is really leaving NYS and moving to Florida) took the mic made amends with Puma. he congratulated Puma on the victory, and told the fans that he and Puma had been through to much together to let it end like this. He told Puma that loved him like a brother and the two embraced. Marc held Jonny's hand up in victory. He then thanked the fans for supporting him for the six years that he's been wrestling in New York State, and told the fans to keep supporting the local wrestling scene before leaving the ring. As he walked to the back there were emotional chants of "Thank you, Marc" from the fans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ By the way, Cigar Jockey, regarding your quesiton on the NWA and the world title, the NWA Board of Directors announced the tournament to deicde the new champ. Guess what. NWA Empire's new champion Pepper Parks is in in the tourny. Looking at the brackets, my guess is that they'll be putting the belt on Bryan Danielson. I'll post a pic here with the brackets
