NBA Draft

I have not been a fan of the NBA latly, mainly because of the problems off court that my local team, the Indiana Pacers, have been having. With all of the strip club gun fights they seem to have lost the ability to put on a decent game even with Larry Bird in the office.

But last night I actually watched the draft to see how 2 local guys would do, well they did GREAT in the draft. Greg Oden went #1 and Mike Conley went #4. Both are from Indianapolis and played their high school ball at Lawrence North High School. With 3 state championships in H.S. and a NCAA runner up last year with the (evil) Ohio State Univ, they have both been interviewed quite a bit, especially by the local news. Every time I hear Oden talk I like him more and more. I just wish that there were more players like him in the NBA.

I just hope that he does not get corrupted now that his pockets are overflowing!

I hafta say...I hope that Oden will do well. I always have visions of Kwame Brown forgoing his college to go to the pros and tanking when college would have most definately given him the experience he would have needed to excell in the pros.

Greg Oden seems to be in a much better light, even with limited college. I hope he succeeds.

GO GATORS!!! Horford did the chomp on stage while walking over to David Stern. How about Chris Richard (going to Minnesota with Corey Brewer) getting drafted before Taureen Green!?!?!

I had the same feelings about Kwame Brown and Donnell Harvey (my last year of school).

I think Oden will do fairly well... he seems to have a very level head and an active family that seems to keep him grounded.

Kevin Durant will probably do well also, just due to his work ethic.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the class pans out.
