DDT...man that brings me back! I can remember when the American Military were stationed at Goose Air Base not far from here...they had those large drums of that stuff!! Fun times!

My grandpa was a rice and soybean farmer in Arkansas, and there is no doubt the stuff worked. It also came close to making Eagles and Hawks extinct in this country. I'm no tree hugger, but I admit, I am glad it is gone.

If it would have chemically broken down after first useage (when the bugs died) instead of staying toxic for a thousand years or whatever, the stuff would still be in use today.
