Dark Tower Series By S. King

Hey BullyBreed! Don't know if you remember having a little talk at Robusto's one night about the Dark Tower... Well, Squid did a "crash course" on it and read every book during the past four weeks. I'm about 1/3 into volume seven right now. Reading all the books at once gives a lot more satisfaction than I previously had from reading one (and out of order at that) a few years ago. I found that I enjoyed it immensely as a reading experience...

Just don't anybody give away the ending!

I read the first couple of books in the series when it first came out and then got side tracked waiting on the rest of the series and never followed up. At one time I was a Stephen King fiend.

I just finished it a few days ago and nothing I've ever read served to anger me as badly as the final book in that series.

I read the first three years ago. Never got back into them. Maybe I need to.

Anybody a Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time Series) fan? I stopped reading them during Winter's Heart because he had too much stuff going on and it was hard to keep up with. Anyway, I digress, he died a few weeks ago and he still had two or three books left to write to finish the series. Kind of a bummer for those fans out there. I wonder if anyone will try and finish what he started.

I had not heard this news and I was literally sickened to hear this.
I started reading the WOT years ago and hadn't checked Jordan's blog in months. I can't believe the most epic fantasy series in the history of fantasy will never be properly finished. When he first got sick he was sure he's be OK and was actually talking about further series after the WOT and was almost insuring his fans that he wouldn't die before the WOT was completed. Very sad news, he was an amazing writer.

I reread the first book of the series about a year ago and never got around to the rest. Thanks for the reminder to finish it.

I might get finished this week... Things are a bit tight time-wise though, so we'll see.
