There are some good recipes to be had here.
What kills me is the fast food urge. Pack a lunch to work and stick to it. I also do not bring any small bills or any cash at all to work and be tempted with the vending machines.
Also my dogs are my excercise plan. To keep a Giant schnauzer at 80lbs requires a lot of activity on your part.
You are soooo right. Lunch was always a killer for me. Burger King was my favorite. Now I only do Burger King when I am on vacation. Funny thing is, now it doesn't even taste that good to me.

Here is my plan.

Eat nothing white (starches).

Stay away from sugar.

Eat small meals/snacks every 3-4 hours.

Split meals with wife when dinning out or take home 1/2 (doggy bag)

Exercise (maybe)

YOU can do it.

Just wanted to encourage you brothers about the weight loss thing. You can do it!
I took a 16 week challenge last January from some guys at work. On my first weigh last January I tipped the scale at 345 pounds. One year later, January 2008, I weighed in at weight watchers tonight at 210 pounds.

Thanks - Part of my diet plan was leaving the bag of chips alone and enjoy a good cigar in its place. Maybe I should write a book called "The Cigar Diet" Even if you don't loss weight you still feel good. What a novel idea!

Hey fellas, good luck.

I don't know what your personal plans for exercise are, but I've personally seen some of the best results from past clients with a dynamic training style similar to crossfit. Just be sure to ease into it if you go with that program. It's also what I use to stay in shape. Just a tidbit of info, take it or leave it.

I had been going for the low carb, low sugar thing. Well last night, in honor of LSU playing in the BCS, the family and I ordered some pizza and I drank some good Louisiana Abita beer. Let me tell you, I felt like shit from how much starch I had within a hour. It is amazing once your body gets used to eating right how much it will throw a fit when you binge back on your bad habits.

How are you guys doing? I hope you are able to keep with you goal. Just wanted to check in and see how things are going. My last weigh in was 209. That is a total of 136 pounds now. If I can be of any help to you all, please let me know. I have found some things that have really helped me keep on target.
Blessings

With about six weeks to go, I was wondering where everyone stands.

I lost 40lbs so far. My wife and I are heading to Cozumel at the end of this challenge. That has really helped with the motivation.

Wow good for you, I think your motivation was great!

I think I've lost a grand total of 5 lbs, I just could never make it to the gym with a 2 year old!

Hey guys! I just found this thread. I had been trying to loose as well but haven't been doing too well. I had started small changes back before the holidays and kicked it up just after the Super Bowl. Since then not too good. I know it can be done cause last year I lost around 50lb but gained it back when I lost motivation and stress levels increased. Now I am back to 300 and miserable. If anyone who has slacked off and wants to restart some kind of group I would be interested. I have been watching "Biggest Loser" but I get pissed becasuse everyone there needs to loose weight but it turns into a backstabbing reality game. Shame too, I used some of the diet and exercise routines last year with some success. Anyway, If anyone wants to form a different grooup or re-start, let me and we'll get some thing started. From pics I see posted there's a few of us that could use each others motivational support. No offense intended, I know I'm fat and I'm not happy about it. Are you? Trying to convince myself that I'm just 3" too short for my weight isn't working.

I would enjoy something like this, but for me I would really be more geared to a lean mass competition. Ya, I need to loose about 10 lbs., but that isn't enough to compete in a new competition with If anyone is interested in doing a weight loss, lean mass % gain, I would put some nice sticks up for that
