IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY A CERTAIN PRICE FOR A CERTAIN CIGAR, DON'T BUY IT!

Of course not. You can be legalistic and nitpick words if you want. You should realize that is not what I intended. If not, nothing else I could say to you would be productive.

Cheers!

Of course that is not what is being said.

It is real simple in my mind. If you profit off of other members here, you are a POS. Retailers being the exception.

Gotcha....I better get a tax ID and maybe change my username to "AAlmeter, LLC" just to avoid being called a POS.

Wouldn't DBA work just as well? LLC's are so tacky.

Re: Just a reminder to check who you are dealing with

Before I grad myo I've got something to say. I think that AAlmeter is right in saying that if you have some very premium aged sticks then of course you will sell them for more than what you bought them for. They are like gold. And Slowhand is right when he is talking about profiting off of a BOTL because I believe he is refering to charging a profit on a split for current sticks.

Re: Just a reminder to check who you are dealing with

One of the punks that was on that list, deservedly so, got off the list by kissing ass. So, did he do trades 2 months after they were supposed to be completed or did he not? How much ass kissing is needed? The main problem with that list is, as I already said, its the owners opinion only, and I have no reason to respect his opinion.

Wow... this is pretty confusing

So BOTL's like Dave, Sean, Me, Greg, Adam or you Slowhand would be a POS if they profit but not a retailer? The Retailer gets the double door action but a member cannot? Think about that and then think about what Adam said...

"IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY A CERTAIN PRICE FOR A CERTAIN CIGAR, DON'T BUY IT!"

I have sources from one country that are twice as much (or more) as another supplier in a different country...

So which price am I supposed to sell it at if I bought them from the high priced place? Should I lose 50% so I will not appear to be profiting from a high price? What if Sean was selling them from the lower priced supplier at the same time as me... for half the price? Sure sounds like I am a POS with your POV even though I was selling them at cost. What if Adam got sweetheart deal of a box for half price because he bought six other boxes at the same time from the supplier.... does that mean he is a POS if he sells them at full box price even though he had to do a major cash layout to get the price? What about the interest on his credit card for buying 7 boxes at once... can you figure that in?

I (and Adam) repeat... it is simple, it is fair and it is the American way....

"IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY A CERTAIN PRICE FOR A CERTAIN CIGAR, DON'T BUY IT!"

The nice thing about the jungle is that it works off of trust and respect. If I did a box split with Dave for Boli PC's one week at X price and then the next split a week later he told me the price was Y... I wouldn't care (or most likely notice) because if Y was too much for me to spend I could tell Dave that and he would be cool and there would be no problems or I would just spend it.

I once bought a BUNCH of sticks from Sean... probably 7 to 10 different singles to fivers... he put each different one in a zip lock with date codes, packed them VERY perfectly.... you could tell he spent at least half an hour packing up my cigars... I never double checked his prices with my suppliers... he listed the prices when he sold them and I felt it was a good deal... if he would have added 10 dollars to all of the sticks he would have still got shafted for the time spent packing.

For the record... I know Sean did not... even if he did (and he didn't, that is Sean) he still threw in a BOAT load of other sticks as a gift and I once again was amazed at the generosity of such a fine brother. It works from trust and respect... we don't need more laws in this country or this forum/hobby... we need people that trust and respect each other... then the price will settle itself.

The list needs to be for people that cannot be trusted or that have disrespected other BOTL's IMHO.

My apologies to everyone if this rambled

Good points Rod...just watch out...you may come to find that, like Sean and me, you name is whispered in the dark rooms of other houses.

Oh and Sean, yes...one of my sticks is crooked. I laid one hell of a check on some kid from VT and bent one of my titanium shafts a few years back. Please stop by Montgomery Regional and give him my best for me.

Thats right, tardy. We keep all the scumbags here all safe and secure in a special room that you can't see. There, we let them loose among the noobs and let the noobs get ripped off. Then we organize box passes for the scumbags to rip off. We also have a special dog-rockets for puros room and a moochiholics forum.
