North Dallas didn't get any snow, but I'll be home (in Sherman) tomorrow or Saturday at the very latest, and I hear they got about 6 inches too. So maybe I'll get to take some smoking pictures in the snow! Depends on how long the feeling in my fingers last.

However, once it gets high enough to cover your fence, snow is just plain annoying. (Six more inches tomorrow, twelve feet so far this winter, six foot accumulation in the yard ... ugh.)

And people drive just as stupidly here ...
That is just too much snow. Have you seen the commercial where the guy is scraping the ice and snow off of his car...hits his keyless entry button only to find that he scraped the wrong car? I'm sure you do a lot of ice/snow scraping...

Heh. Never seen that one before. The thing to do is fire up the car first to get the defroster going! I actually don't do too much scraping - I take the bus or walk to work. (I used to ride my bicycle to work in the winter, but that got just too weird.)

I suspect that a lot of the accidents down there in the snow are due to tires - e.g., here's a vid that was done last winter at our track:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX1UmYG1nyk
(This is a series of six vids, but I chose the pickup truck one 'cause you're in Texas, eh? )

Excellent video and you are right...most vehicles here are not equipped with the proper tires for these rare winter storm conditions. Our patrol vehicles don't have them either!

Unhappy

So I'm used to hearing people whining about a cold front from Canada. This storm is expected to dump 20" of snow here ... and on the freakin' weekend, too!

Hey let me tell you - if we get one inch of snow in the Charlotte area the entire city shuts down. The grocery stores sell out of bread, milk, water, and batteries.

I would love for us to get as much snow as you just had. It would give me well needed time away from work.

In Houston, the last time we saw snow was 3 or 4 years ago and before that time it was nearly 20 years.

Yeah, I'm ready for spring. Been a long winter already. We're supposed to get somewhere between 1 and 12 inches of snow tonight...hoohoo:....NOT!
