I got this today from the mustard museum:


Our government did a terrible thing. I'm not talking about the war (that's another story) but the tariff on most European mustards. This isn't new. In the latter years of the Clinton Administration, the U.S. imposed a 100% duty on nearly all European mustards as a retaliatory measure in response to a dispute over hormone-treated cattle used for beef going to Europe.

Alas, this is a bipartisan tragedy, as even under the Bush administration, the tariff continues. Mustard lovers in America have shouldered this burden, paying far too much for European mustards. I have written to the United States Trade Representative on several occasions but to no avail. We need you to write to the USTR to demand an end to the tariff. Here is the address:
