My wife says she doesn't want anything for Mothers Day. We have a 4 year old, so I at least will do the card thing from the both of us. Anyone have any killer ideas to make the day really special?? My creativity is running low and my wife will expect us to do SOMETHING. Help.

Ditto but from a 2 year old in my case. I want to do something that she can keep forever. Year 1 got a diary she could put hand prints and notes about each month of Ben's life, so I am looking for something like that.

Seriously, I'm no help. Anything I'd recommend would be ordered online and wouldn't get there in time.

I do all my shopping the day before the event. I always figure something out.

I am taking my 4yr old daughter to the Mall this afternoon to pick something out for mommy. I am going to let her pick it out. I think my wife will love that. I cant wait to see what she picks

I AGREE!!! We usually only say we don't want anything when we are pissed and it is more of a dare than anything. "Like, I dare you not to give me something on Mother's Days....I only gave birth to your child."

Mother's Day ideas: I think this is nice...go to the dollar store or walmart and pick up a clay flower pot. Have your daughter paint the outside of it and you can help write Happy Mother's Day or For my Mom.... Then help your child put the plant in the pot.

Get some pics together and make a collage. It may be too late, but on Shutterfly you make a photo book.

I do like the picture of father and child together in a nice frame.

Go to your local park with flowers/waterfal...and take some candid photos of your kid. In the water, near it, loking at flowers...etc. Take them with digitals and turn them into Black and whites. Have your kid make a drawing and arrange it with the black and whites.

Man I'm glad I'm an old man!! Anyhow, the LAST thing I did for Mothers Day was to buy a gift cert. at Red Lobster...gave it to the boy and told him to take HIS mother (she's my WIFE...NOT my mother) out for chow. The girl child calls and asked what I'm getting Momma...NOTHING, she is YOUR Mother, you get her something. So back to the OP....a gift cert from the child in a Mom's card..(her favorite place to go, not yours)...dosent always hafta be an eating establishment...Victorias Secret...Bed-n-Bath...etc. That works for quite a few years. I'll get her a card.

Make her a card, she will be shocked and surprised you made it and will keep it forever. Besides that give her the day off. You take care of the kid, clean the house, make dinner, give her a back rub etc...
