He was an iconic comedian. Who else can do the seven words, then do "Thomas the Train", then do the "Rules of the road" in Dogma.

Well, he certainly didn't have any hang ups about making fun of death, that's for sure. So I'm sure he wouldn't be offended. In fact one of my favorite Carlin bits was him talking about a moment of silence for the dead. The best lines: "What about the dead? What's all this favoritism for the dead? F**k the dead!"

What a shame, the guy was truly revolutionary in the comedy world. I had to peruse Braindroppings again just to get a few laughs in honor of the ornery one.

Isn't it ironic that the man who is best known for the 7 Dirty Words, not to mention endless drug humor, ended his great career as Thomas the Tank Engine?
I think Carlin would see the humor in that as well. Bye, George, you will be missed. |

Rest in peace, man.
I can't believe he made it this long, but it's still sad to see him go |

I agree with Troy on the religion and politics thing. Carlin had great pacing and timing, however when listening to stand up, I prefer to be entertained than getting ticked at issues and society. Same with David Cross. I share several of their opinions, but I just prefer the observational stuff that lets me relax. Hearing about how our liberties and the Constitution being discarded just increases the blood pressure. None the less, he paved the way for a lot of people and will be missed.

George Carlin was hillarious. He was a comic genius and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

R.I.P George. He will be sorely missed, this country has too few people in the "limelight" who will say what they think without fear of the media or activists groups. I will always remember his religion is bullsh**, and the 7 things you can't say on television routines. A true comic genius has passed.
