No worries about medical bills, on this side of the border.

He got through the surgery without any issues. They installed two plates; one in front(chin) and one at the back right side. He will have a liquid diet for 4 to 6 weeks. They stabilized the jaw with bars and elastics while it heals.

He should be released sometime today. He will be in a bit of pain for a few days.

I've already contacted our local guys and gave them a heads-up with respect to charging the kid. We'll have to wait a couple days, until my son is better condition to give a statement. I've already informed my son's friends that we will look after the situation.

Glad your son came through the surgery. We will continue to pray for him. The jerk who did this really needs to be punished. Anybody that does something like that is a menace.

Same thing happened to my wife's brother and he lost the sight in one eye.

I am sure you know what to do with your background and experience, but that doesnt solve the immediate need for "some sweet revenge". However, like many others stated, the court route is the best way. Too many people out there not being held accountable for their actions...hopefully, the "coward" who did this will be held for his. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boy at this time.

Speedy recovery for your son. And drain the perp dry. Some of the youth today do not seem to understand accountability or responsibility. I say take the college fund and let him understand the ramifications of his actions.

He's getting through it. He is in a bit of pain, but otherwise doing well.

We went into the station yesterday and he gave his statement. The kid should be arrest by the end of the week. They have to track a few more people and get their statements.

The kids a real winner; I found his My Space page. Turns out the kid shouldn't been out at that time and there are a number of the other things the kid can't do......Let's just say he is not too unfamiliar with this type of situation.

Damn, that's pretty serious. Someone like that NEEDS to be prosecuted. If he gets pissed that easily and is willing to break someone's jaw over talking to a girl, then what's next?!?

I am glad your son is healing, despite the pain and discomfort he'll be in for a few days.

That just makes me hot, and not sexy hot. Crap like that pi$$es me off. I hope they get him and really teach him a lesson. Maybe when they lock him up, the guys locked up with him will get him. An officer should let it publicly be known that he sucker punched....I'm sure some of the guys on the inside would let him know what that feels like.
