Waiting for my son to come out of surgery.
He attended a grad party at his best friends house. He was talking to some girl and some punk came up from behind him and sucker punched him in the side of the face. He said he was stunned for a couple minutes and didn't know what happened.... he's not the kind of kid to take a punch and stand there. He still has no clue why this kid hit him.
When I picked him up yesterday he said a couple of his teeth were broken and his jaw was sore. I took him to the dentist this morning to have the teeth looked after...especially after investing $6000(braces) in those teeth. The dentist looked at him and sent us to an oral surgeon. Well after waiting around for 6 hours, turns out his jaw is broken in two places. They have put in steel plates and wire his jaw in place. It wouldn't bother me if it was a fight or even an argument and the kid hit him, but one thing I can't stand is a (sorry ladies, excuse the term) pu$$y punch. One thing I'm always told my boys is, you never sucker punch a guy. If you are going to fight some someone, you be man enough to go face to face. My son didn't want to 'go through the hassle' of charging the kid, but I will have a chat with him as he recovers. I don't want to see my son or his buddies get them selves in trouble. I'm sure he'll reevaluate his position, after he figures out he will have to spend most of his summer eating his meals through a straw. |

geez I hope he is ok. Thats a dog act, punching someone like that. Perhaps your son doesnt want anything made of it, as he plans on paying him a little visit. Face to face. Sure as heck know I would!

Damn that sucks Tim. I understand the need to settle this but, do it in court. This way your son will stay out of trouble and it will hurt the punk more in the long run.

My thoughts are with you and your family bro. Did you ever see the documentary "murder ball" it is about wheel chair rugby. One of the guys was permanently paralyzed from being sucker punched in the neck at a party. You should press charges, becuase the next kid that asshole punches could be paralyzed or killed.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. As a father, I completely understand your feelings. The other kid's family owes you guys big time-starting with the bills and an apology, followed by probation for assault.

Best of luck on a speedy recovery for your son. As much as it pisses me off, the guys are correct, the legal road over the physical lesson is the way to go for all involved.!!

gah I hate to hear stuff like that. There's no reason to do a pussy move like that.
Def. try to settle in court though. It will be worth it in the long run. (although out of court would feel better at first I'm sure) I'll be prayin for him man. keep us informed. |

I would make that punk A** go to anger management and AA. Then make the parents pay for your kids medical bills. If they refuse, have the kid arrested. Then for the rest of his life on job applications he'll have to say he was arrested.

Damn that sucks! Maybe theres a way to have the other kid pay for the medical bills. After you have your talk with him.
