Rough day today....
Man this bites. Have to change my medication because I have been having problems at work with narcoleptic episodes (a bad thing when you are a 911 dispatcher). Now I'm out on medical leave until I get a medical clearance to go back to work. It appears that the medication for my depression/anxiety attacks/panic attacks and my diabetes medication don't play well together. So they have changed my depression medication and while I'm slowly going off one and coming onto another, I'm sitting here having panic attacks. I hate it when that happens.
Divorced, 41, and panic attacks suck happening all at the same time.... Sorry if I'm rambling on, but not too many people here I can talk to right now. :imconfused: ![]() Michael

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I kinda went through the same thing when they changed my insulin. The new insulin initially made me feel very jittery and I thought that I was having a bad reaction. Then my doc reassured me that it was normal. I then informed him that I do not want anymore "normal" reactions like that. Hang in there and remember we are here if you need to "talk."

Hi Michael,
Sorry to hear about your situation. Prescription conflicts are very dangerous especially as you get older and more vulnerable to drugs. Don't forget that your pharmacist can be better at spotting these than your doctor because he sees all your prescriptions including the ones from specialists that your GP might not be aware of. Diabetes is tough. I sympathize. My aunt, and father in law suffered from the same so I have seen it close up. I also had a dog that was diabetic and we gave her shots twice a day for 15 years. Dogs can't tell you when they feel the effects of low or high blood sugar so you really have to be on top of them. Test strips in their pee and all. Not easy with a female dog. Have you tried meditation to help with your panic? Here is a link to a free introduction to a very basic form of Buddhist meditation which is easy to learn and may be helpful. It won't turn you into the Dali Lama but it should help you be more calm and focused. Look on the left of the page for the links to the rest of the instruction. http://www.wildmind.org/mindfulness/introduction Good luck

Hang in there Michael! Seems like you are dealing with a lot all at one time. Just remember it always seems darkest before the light. The only thing I know about Panic Attacks is reading a book about Earl Campbell and how he surffed from them. We are always here for support!

Well, I'm a little better today, but I can feel it coming on again. Just part of the joys of going off one med and switching to another. I've been through this before, so I know what is coming. It doesn't make it any easier however. I didn't have the kids last night, so I got out last night and went over to my parents for dinner. My mom has depression too and has gone through the same problems, so she understands.
