I told the wife that this was the best birthday/Christmas present I ever received and she said "good" now I know what to get you every year!!!
sounds great, jerry.

wish i knew how to fish (hated it as a kid, never caught anything, was boring to me).

Greg if your ever over this way, just give me a call. We've got a few honey holes around here that still produce some good catches (Tom & Dustin get your minds out of the gutter..... ).

Hunting and fishing was something that was just second nature to me growing up. Living out in a VERY rural area it was just part of growing up, then if the fish didn't bite you went swimming. Heck I never swam in a swimming pool until I was 14!!

Good for you! Any time spent with the kids away from all of the distractions is time well spent. Glad you had a great time.

If you can't get to Bass Pro Shops.

About 1 cup flour, 1 cup corn meal and about two table spoons (or more) of Old Bay seasoning in a paper bag. Put the fish in the bag ( a few at a time) and shake to coat then fry. YUM!

Sounds like a great trip Jerry. There are some great spots down there on KY lake. Not just for fishing, but just hanging out.

Enjoy the bounty, looks really good!!!!

Re: Father Son Fishing Trip

Looks like you guys had a fantastic time. Being a father is the best ain't it??

I'm going fishing this Saturday. But considering it will be 15km off shore and in 100mtr of water I don't think I will be taking my son, who is not yet 2....

But one day.....

Re: Father Son Fishing Trip

Our daughter is all grown up and living 23 hrs away in Montana. We get to see her 2-3 times a year. Memories of special times together are so important. Glad that you and your boy had an opportunity to make a special memory. Plus it looks like you all caught a mess of fish.

Re: Father Son Fishing Trip

I remember fishing trips that my Father and I enjoyed when I was a lad. Time with your son is priceless Jerry and it looks like you emptied that lake of fish to boot. Many fathers will do a lot for their sons, but a few do things with their sons.

Your right Marc. I see a lot of dads getting really involved with their kids when doing sports (baseball, football...ect) but that's not the same thing. I like doing and teaching things to my kids that we can enjoy our whole life together, like Fishing, Hunting, Golf...ect. Things that aren't age based. Something that when I'm 70 (if I make it that long) I can still take my kids fishing and enjoy the time together.
