How much of a "red tape" process was it? (how long from application to hip)

In GA is was a matter of getting finger printed in my home county, then an GBI and local police background check was conducted. They say 6 months, but I got mine in 2. A few friends of mine got theirs in 2 months also.

We are having a CHL course at my house in Oct.

8hrs course all in one day and shooting to qualify about a couple of hours. Photo & fingerprinting. About an hour 4 the test.

12 hour day & then send in the app. and recieve CHL back within 60 days.

We have 9 taking it right & it looks like 3 more are going to take it.

Should be a lot of fun & a long day.

Congrats on getting it.I want to get mine, but everywhere I go here concealed weapons are not permitted even with a state permit. The state leaves it up to the business owner whether they allow them on their premises or not.You see the no concealed weapons signs everywhere.

The signs have to be correctly hung and correctly posted. They do that here as well but tons of stores have the signs posted incorrectly.....Besides...To many stupid people trying to do stupid crap....

The times have changed....

I have a Texas CCL, and I don't think I'm in favor of "open carry". That, to me, seems to open up to the possibility of someone seeing the handgun and arranging to take it from you. Concealed, they never know who does or does not have a handgun.
