I agree Chad, there are corrupt people in every line of work. But still what a blanket statement "police are corrupt". You could have easily have said "some police are corrupt" if thats what you really meant.

No problem brother. Just get tired of hearing it sometimes. Like I said yes there are some, but not near as many as most people think! A lot of very good hard working men in women in blue! That's why $hit like this really pisses me off because we all get a bad name from it!

i am by no means any kind of police hater or anti law guy . The police are there as a service for us when we need help. I have called them before, and they have been of great service. I think the real problem is the media and people who are just mad they cant be chaotic and do whatever they want , giving them a bad rap. I have much respect for any one willing to do what they do, its not a job of all bells and whistles .

I used to get down on the police in my city because they never are visible or do much to enforce the no fireworks ordinance around the fourth. Especially when our area is quite dry and volatile. Well this season they impressed me. They not only were visible, but were highly patrolling the neighborhoods and even busted some neighbors. Cool! Not to mention the one that didn't write me up for a moving violation, mostly because I didn't give him a hard time. I told him I blew it. He instead got me for a broken windshield instead, and the expired license, well that was my fault too for not updating the address after moving. We passed each other later and gave each other a nod and a smile. Things are looking up.

I just want to say that after watching this clip, the "police officer" they interviewed is no where near the best example of a LEO to me. IMHO.

I am a former cop wife, so I've met some amazing PO's, including my ex.

Either way, I hope that regardless of the situation brought on by Gustav, Katrina and her events do not repeat-- across the board.

As an unbiased witness, could you identify any of the looters? Did they have any outstanding characteristics?
