Jon Caputo

As many of you know I was a person that was apprehensive about the change. I still am, and I do not know where this site will go. We are not included in the vision he has for this board, or the places he acquired. Could this be the beginning of a cnet.com for cigars? Perhaps...

But over the last 24 hours I have exchanged a few private messages with Jon Caputo and so far he has been a gentlemen. He has expressed that he shares the same passion for cigars as us and this is not a money making venture for him, but rather a passion.

In that 24 hours I asked him for a favor being he lives where I was born, and I have been trying for 20 years of my life (I am 39) to obtain. I have never been to Ft. Lauderdale, but in telling him my story and my request he has agreed to obtain this small token for me.

So far he seems like an ok individual. I am going to give him a chance, because lets face it the future is not yet written, and we do not know what the next page in life will bring us.

The glass half empty says; even the most hated people on the planet have people who speak up for them that I do not want to give the benefit of the doubt

The glass half full says; so far my interaction with him has been pleasant, friendly, and I rather give him the chance to be one of us and I am speaking up and saying I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Also, do you think Daniel will sell us out? I would like to think not.. even if he changed my signature for me, instead of asking me.

So for me, my friends the glass is half full.. Is that the right choice? Only time will tell.

I think the whole thing about the signatures is highly inappropriate, there are a number of people that have sponsorships in their sigs and also have big links to admittedly CigarLive events, but if fair is fair, they should all be fixed...

I agree it was petty, as if all sites not part of the new network are the enemy, and I was picked on because of it. If I was asked I would of changed it. So I am not as mad. But I would of rather been asked.

What does bother me is that I random checked the signatures of about 20 people and they are still big and bold. So that bothers me that I was singled out.

Hopefully the glass is half full and in this case I'd like to think that it is.

I just wish Daniel and Jon wouldn't be so secretive about this transition. Not saying that we should or have to know everything that's going on. A few hints or possibilities would be nice and I think a little taste of what is to come would stop all the speculation and worrying that is going on.

If you see any that are bold or detracting from content please let me know. I have tried to catch most but sometimes certain usergroups have them enabled and in the admin panel it does not stand out every single toggle. Once again if you see them please let me know. Trying to get things cleaned up.

Been like this for over a year. I am trying to clean up the signatures to be simple like they were supposed to be. This was a thread for august of 2007.

Like many others, I do not know what to expect for Cigar Live both in the short-term and in the long-term. I am somewhat concerned about the numerous sites that Jon has obtained and the amount of time he will have to dedicate to each one. I will wait-and-see for now, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

Look personally I don't care if Jon is a regular on here or not, don't get me wrong I hope he does decide to spend time here but there is no law that says he has to be an active member here, if he's keeping Daniel and the mods on to keep this site what it is, isn't that the important thing?
