Not a big Fan of RG. In my opinion the RG system is often (not always) nothing more than a good ol'boys network, a way of stroking each others egos. I mean really, if someone has a post you really enjoyed send them a PM... Why the need for some sort of number, is ridiculous IMO.

Popularity (and unpopularity) are based on something - and rg IS a tangible measure of that something.

That said, showing rg in threads is akin to people wear rg-embossed hats at a herf. Keep the system or don't ... but if we keep it, show the rg on member's page.

The rg can be a helpful tool but could be displayed on the member's page rather than in the forums. IMO the trader rating tells more about a member's trustworthiness as long as members use it to document good and bad trades. The hesitancy to note bad trades has caused some problems here.

I've had unsavory dealings with members that had high post counts, high rg and good trader ratings - good advice here Richard.
