Its a sad day

I am embarrassed to tell anyone about CL. Every other post I pull up is closed or someone is banned? I was proud to tell my friends about CL a few weeks ago. Now there is nothing good on here any more. Why close the post or ban some one for there opinion? It makes CL look bad. You are never going to be able to make everyone happy, why not just let it go. If people do not want to read the post they will not and people will quit going on and on about the same stuff. I was excited to be part of this place but its getting bad. :mumbles:

Well I dont think every other post has people calling other people Nazis or where one person just posts 20 posts over and over yelling obscenities lol

I think a. there is a great core community here that wants to discuss CIGARS and leave the drama out and b. in general people are fed up with the name calling, bashing, etc. I think it makes CL look bad if those threads ARE allowed to continue and those kinds of people continue to wreak havok on CL.

Two points and I'm outta here...

on your point a) this core group of people is the one that you have pushed away with your actions and the way that you run the board. Why would you close a legit thread about addresses being sold possibly if you have nothing to hide...huh. You are the Hypocrate here jon, that is for sure.

To point b) why then has posting slowed to a trickel? Because you are not letting people post what they want, and when they do you close it, and then you and another member who is not an official lead, but connected to the former leader push other threads up to the top to hide things.

This while place is what people say, OPEN YOUR EYES. People are TRYING TO HELP YOU. Stogie said that my post the other night was negative, to the contrary, if you read it it was trying to point out how you and the others are perceved. But if you want to be blind, deaf and dumb go right ahead, and ignore the people who are trying to help you.

Sell our addresses, sell our e-mails, make your money and F the membership. Hold your head high, that's something to really be proud of.

This is what has me banging my head against the wall 'til I'm bloody. I found a home here on CL...members get along, didn't trash each other, cigars were the main focus on the board, the administration (Daniel and the Mods) listened to what the members had to say. Not only did they encourage this, but they were interested in what we, as members, had to say. It's sad that those days are gone now.

Jon, how can you as a businessman be okay with the majority of the core members leaving here for other sites? It boggles my mind! I know you can't please everyone, but you seem to be okay with pissing off everone. You made a posting about having an open line of communication....then clsoed the thread!!!! Isn't that a bit Ironic??? Threads are being closed because they are critical of the board and of yourself. That's NOT leadership. That tells me, from a members persepective, when things get tough the people in charge are going to run and hide behind the power to close threads instead of standing up and facing whatever the challenge is. Daniel acted as a leader....he had ideas, got members input, took them into consideration and made a decision. It may not have always been the popular one, but he was always willing to answer questions and explain why he made that decision.

So far all I've seen from you recently are closed threads, deleted posts, banned accounts and you telling us what is going to happen and our opinions be damned. That's not leadership, that's dictatorship. I'm trying to be supportive of you...and want to be...but you are making it very hard to do so.

The core members that left made this board what it was...a friendly, open place to discuss cigars. They now have been driven off and this place is a shell of what it once was.

It's sad to see all the hard work that Daniel and the others get wasted like this. I'll be the first one to try to help stop a sinking ship, but not when the captain of that ship is the one putting holes in it. I'm not sure what type of post will be okay and what type of post might get me banned anymore, but at this point I don't realy care.
