Also, please tell us how you are planning to build a home when speech is getting censored left and right. Also, why close the address being sold thread, that had not turned nasty...

Please explain why people are banned for speaking on other fourms...

I will not unban people who have called me a nazi - people who have posted 20 messages in a row with obscenities - and people who will most likely if I unban them come back to create even more drama. I have been upfront about what we are doing with this and other boards - not sure what you mean here. Its been discussed, hashed and rehashed many many times.

No on the tshirts. They are 5 dollars above my cost and sold out anyway so this point is moot.

I will admit I am not perfect and I do get emotional as well as any other normal human being. Its not my intention to sweep anyone under the rug - if it seems that way I apologize. Lets remember that pissing people off works two ways.

Good questions. We are working day, noon, and night on the merger. Nothing to report as of yet but we are looking like mid to late December. We discussed in other threads about what will change but I am happy to repeat. All forums will be merged into 1 large forum with each individual forum retaining its own 'clubhouse' where only its own members will have access to.

Stuff that is being censored is stuff that contains curse words, vulgarity, insults, bashing, and the like.

Thread was closed because WE were being accused of selling addresses - we do NOT do this, will never do this - the question was asked and answered.

People banned for speaking on other forums? I have no idea on this I am not on any other forums so I have no idea what drama is being caused outside of the drama here.

Sometimes, as head of the community, it's your role to find solutions to the problems that we bring, Jon.

If people are pissed, and they're telling you why, maybe the onus is on you to find the solution.

Yes, it's better to be part of the solution then the problem, but when a large part of the community is bringing their disappointment to you and they can't fix the problem or offer solutions because the problem is how you're running things, then it's up to you to fix it.

People are still pissed about the forum being sold. They can't help that - but when you ban people for saying so, all you're doing it making it fester like an infection. That anger had to go somewhere so people are bailing.

I don't know how else to spell it out - when you tell people they can only offer constructive criticism, but the root of their problems is your actions, it's not helping. Why not address how the board is being run? Look at what you can change, and change it. But right now it looks like you're not doing anything. Maybe you need to be an absentee owner? Sometimes hanging around the bar that you own just makes the people that frequent it uneasy. They don't like you, and they'll say so - because even though you own the place, they feel they own a part of it too from the memories they've got and the good times they've had.

As an owner, it might be time for you to realize that posting here and throwing your weight around in a patriarchal way is rubbing people the wrong way and you need to step back, let the mods run the place and enjoy it from afar or anonymously.

How about if someone got a catalog from a company and the name on it was their USERID here...the only place they use that ID? How could that be...

1. ok the sponsering thing I think he is refering to is the ufc fighter
2. the address thing you guys were not acused by the author he said to the retailer had took his addy from his profile.
3. the banning for what people are saying on other forums is the toastie coastie banning for what he said on snobs that Daniel does read.
4. You keep refering to Brent as Babo and its pretty clear you are doing this to insult him and that goes against what you want from members so you should not do it either.

OK that being said I would like to say since this is a thread that does show some great promise for moving forward, there is a great double standard here and that is in what Jim and Darren did by insulting members who are still on both boards and wish to stay on both, well they were attacked by both of these men and yes when they were refered to as cry babies and THIEFS and nothing happened to them since they apoligized well I'm sorry thats just not fair. That post did nothing to help here but it was kept open, WHY? because it was in CL's favor sorry but it was still a very mean spirited thread that did more harm to Live than John's tirade did last night.

In all fairness, someone at CI could have opened an account, gotten the number of necessary posts and then started pulling them off profiles.

True, but why close the thread at that...why not keep it open so they can investigate.

It should be part of the ownerships repsponibility to protect the memebers from this very thing...addresses are supposed to be viewable after a period of time...

I hate to bring this up again but this is a big deal not only with cigarlive but all cigar boards and that is members do not make money off of other members and members don't take there "time" into account when they put stuff together to either sell or trade, there is a list for bad traders that is out there for cigar boards and a big thing on that is the amount of people who are on there for "making money" off of other BOTL. So yes you say you made only $5 per shirt but if you don't put your time into it how much did you really make and no this is not meant to insult you it is meant for you to think about others feelings.
