Someone wanted to say, I'll be the mouth piece:

"I was debating jumping in and pointing out that it was Jon and Daniel who provoked Tony (Riccardi), which lead to his caustic response and subsequent banning, which then lead to other 'senior' members going overboard in reaction to an unjustified banning..."

What about Tony's ban?

Well if Tony wants back in - all he has to do is send me a email explaining what happened and we will take it from there. I wont make any guarantees but I will offer to hear him out and listen to what he has to say. That goes for anyone that was banned..

How about some notice a short time before changes are made. That was questions can be asked, and what not, just not show up ans BLAMO changes made.

Also, can you address what role Daniel and the other Owners have? I know that that are employeed (contracted) for a period of time with you. What is there roll in your empire.

This is a great positive thread. Thank you for starting it and thanks Jon for responding.

I agree with Brent and would like some sort of notice before things change (moving to Puff.com).

I also agree that when Puff.com launches bans should be lifted (with a few exceptions obviously... fake members etc.)

When the new site launches will you have a section especially for video, sort of like we have here now at CL?

Will there be a launch party? If it opens mid to late december I might be in Texas then... It could be a good time for a party.

Brent you are doing great with the Q & A here, and I'd like to extend the thanks to Jon for answering. Keep this up.

Jon I do remember you saying you feel the angry posts on this board are not constructive but I invite you revisit those posts and look at the reason for them. I believe most of those posts blaintantly show why theyre angry or at least hint at it in an obvious manner. I truely believe there is MUCH MUCH truth in those threads maybe not presented in the best matter due to anger. Please revist those threads and realize the members concerns! I think that is a good way to turn what you see as non constructive threads into tools to rewire the hardware in this broken machine.

On that same note, I think as members we should also re-visit the posts that made us (members) angry at other members. There has been a lot of emotion on this board as well as "the other" board lately. It is comforting to see that we can have dialog without name calling and bashing.

Just so everyone knows, I still stand by what I said in my long diatribe the other day. I thought long and hard about that.

Not sure if I will help or hurt but I want to give my $.02 about members saying CL is running different.

CL has always tried to be a very friendly cigar forum, different then all the rest. We never let there be fights between members, we never let members bash a cigar company (if they didn't like a cigar that was fine to talk about). CL has always edited post or deleted them when we thought it was a post that was out of line. CL has closed many threads before it was ever bought by Jon.

I still think this is the same. Post have been deleted because they where believed to be out of line. There have been many posts that have been left up where members have asked or gave plenty of feed back about the sale etc.. Its when members have bashed that they have been deleted, when threads where made to bash they where closed, and when threads where high jacked and turned into a bash thread they where closed.

Where some of these post deleted to soon, or thread closed to soon? Yes they where. After that happened last thursday the mods talked in the mod section and we decided to stop deleting these post so that members can see them and make up their own mind instead of hearing from us about why, or not hearing or seeing anything at all. Joe this is why SHD's thread was left up. It was closed after giving it plenty of time, it just keep going no where good so was closed.

As far as the rules, I'm sure this has to do with people being banned with no warning or a 14 day ban before a perm ban.
I said this in another thread, and I'm sure everybody will not agree with me but this is how I see it. Those rules are for people that make a mistake, have a slip up, etc... Those rules are not there for members that are hell bent on causing problems and only posting for those reasons. They are also not there for spammers, as this has nothing to do with why people are upset, but I wanted to point this out because there have been many spammers (phone, computers, clothes etc..) that have been banned right off the bat. They are not there for people who just want to post tell "everybody to leave so this will go under". That being said, have some people been baned to soon, I'm sure there has been. This was talked about to and hopefully that is a thing of the past.

We are hearing what is being said, we want to give members a chance to say how they feel! I think this thread is going pretty good and people are talking that is great!

Jon I think there should be nobody banned from PUFF.com, it should be a clean slate for everybody!

Notice before changes are made..will do our best - many moving parts going on here. Certainly before there is any scheduled down time we will offer advance notice. And if there is anything else we can offer a sneak peek on for feedback we will do it.

Daniel/other owners are all going to participate with Puff.com by remaining active in the forums, writing reviews, doing videos, etc for the next year - possibly longer.

sorry lets do it this way then tell all the members how much you really paid for the shirts and how you came up with the figure of only making $5 profit. Making money off of the members of a cigar board is not something that is done. There is something known as a bad traders list for ALL the cigar boards and one of the most commen infractions on there is making money off a BOTL. I understand your time is worth money but when it comes to this hobby of ours it is not something that is done, when I ask someone to pick me up cigars at their local B&M they don't add $10 to the total cost for boxing it up and driving to the post office to mail it they charge me what it cost them.

and stop saying the shirts and hats are all sold lets move on thats just makes you look like your trying to hide something. I'm not saying you are trying to hide anything something but thats the way it looks.

1. Notice question has been answered.. as much as we can we will give advance notice

2. Maybe we will put this up to a vote to see what the general consensus is like?

3. Special section for video - absolutely!

4. Launch party - for sure! Figure late jan or sometime mid feb is what we are shooting for - is going to be a BLAST! We are going to set up some real special stuff for it.

Man this is a GREAT point. We are -all- human and we get emotional and I am no exception. But the fact that THIS thread exists is a testament to what we can achieve if we are all polite and act in a constructive manner (I am no exception to this)
