Re: Do not want to be an A$$...
How about something like an icon next to the Trader Feedback number.
The icon appears if the user meets one or all of the following credentials: - Negative remark within the past 30 days (ie: had negative feedback 3 weeks ago, but may have positive since then) - Last Feedback was negative, regardless of age (ie: negative is 3 months old, but no other feedback since) - over 10% of all feedback is negative Just my thoughts. |

Re: Do not want to be an A$$...
It would take a bit of daily maintenance perhaps, but how about changing a persons name-color (as the moderators are different from regular users) to a specific color meaning "didn't fulfill a trade". This way if the trade is actually fulfilled the color can go back to normal. If the bad trader never responds, leave the bad trader color in place. Bear in mind this is an initial thought only. I might come up with something better as I think on it...

I think it is a valuable function, but I don't think it's full potential was used at CS. People are reluctant to give negative or neutral feedback. Personally, there were a number of trades I have done that I think warranted a neutral feedback for me - I tend to be late. I have ever seen a neutral feedback given. I would suggest after a reasonable time has passed (in your opinion) give the individual a neutral feedback if he is late beyond what you think was appropriate, and when it is clear that someone won't pay up - by all means a negative feedback is warranted. Than in the future for the rest of the community it becomes more clear when you engage in a PIF, Contest, Pass, trade, etc who you are dealing with. my $.02 Congrats on the win, sorry about the headaches associated with this. Cheers, BillyBarue

Re: Do not want to be an A$$...

We need something simple and straight forward thats easy to update or it wont be maintained properly

Re: Do not want to be an A$$...
Billybarue pretty much explained it. The trader feedback was/is setup for just this thing. With this system, a lot of our contests here (that is, when "we" meant CS), or games will have a minimum # of trader feedback before being able to join. For instance, in my pipe tobacco lottery, a minimum of one + trader feedback is required before joining--others may have it at 2, rarely above 5. When doing a specific trade/buy/sell, you may specify what/how much TF you will deal with, even saying "will not trade w/anyone w/negative feedback." All you have to do is click on their number next to the TF and you'll be able to see who they've traded with, and if any negatives/neutrals. Also you can infer how they trade with the comments left, especially if from long-time/senior members.
Other than this, I don't see a need for a specific icon/color/deadbeat list.

Re: Do not want to be an A$$...
I know this doesn't help with the current situation, but it is easy to keep this from happening in the future.
This past summer 10 of us were involved in a baseball league. To enter, each of us sent a fiver of good sticks to the league commish for safe and proper keeping throughout the summer. If the commish didn't get your fiver (ante), you were not allowed to participate. When the winner was realized, he sent the winnings to the winner. As long as the commish is a decent guy, there will be no problem. Worked great...though it would have worked better if I had won ![]()
