Yes a banning would be harsh, how long has it been that the league has been finished. 5 weeks. people who were on vacation and family problems should be cut some slack if they responded to the pm's. i remember last years superbowl poll when a respected member was protected. how late did he pay up. he was on everyday and never paid up. alls i'm saying is you know your obligation when you sign up. you lose you pay.
again out the people who have not responded to your pm's

As for being "on-line" over at CL when the thread was started, I have always been connected online over there. I was never able to Log-off there. If there is doubt, ask TxTuff,Stogie, CeeDee and a few other as I contacted a Long while ago about the "Logging-Off" matter.

he said that 8 paid and 11 didn't. never thought for a second that you , joe and brent didn't pay or haven't responded.

All of you that feel that banning is too harsh; please take a step back and try to look at this a bit differently. On the one hand a person has basically STOLEN from another person... On the other hand the thief is being banned from an internet cigar group... I really really do not find that to be super harsh by any means. And do you want a person whom has sltolen from somebody else to get the possible oportunity to steal from YOU in the future, because they're still allowed to be here?

have these people been reported to the mods? if they have and the they are still hear then the mods are not doing there job.

Get a consensus and we will act. Someone post up a poll with all the options for the members to vote on. Majority rules. Just keep in mind we are slammed right now fixing bugs and things so if its something that will require programming its going to wait. Banning/warning/whatever that stuff we can take care of. But its up to you guys to decide how you want to treat this situation.

Unless somebody else decides to do it today, I'd be happy to post up a new thread with a Poll concerning this subject later this evening. And I'd do it without the typical Squid-type silliness... Let me know...

I would think we have mods for these situations. If you ban the people, you pretty well guarantee they WILL NOT send anything. Everyone submitted an email address to be able to sign up.....shoot them an email. This would circumvent the pm overflow. Also, if you know someone who ran in the same "clique" as these guys, maybe a pm to them to ask if they know anything. A little more looking into the whole issue by the mods is in order.

So giving a bunch of people who have virtually no idea of the situation the choice of what to do??? Wonderful idea.

Jon, when issues have come up in the past with "deadbeats", there were temp bans, limits, etc. If someone screws up a pass or something, why not give them a minimum time that they are not allowed to participate in such things. Also the trader feedback is a good function. If there is no response from the offenders, give them a time limit ban from the site. They will have pm capability, but not full access. This might grab there attention. If this still doesnt work, a permanent ban and change their user title to tell why they were banned.......ie BAD TRADER, SCREWED A FELLOW BOTL, etc.

Every issue such as this is different and has its own circumstances. One size fits all punishments without researching the issue wouldnt help anyone.

jim I sent him I think about 20 cigars I did pay your post is making me sound like a deadbeat as for brent don't forget he was banned and didn't get the messages and Davids dad was in and out of the hospital and passed away in this time too.

sorry squid but your wrong on this one I cant even pm some of the guys now cause there pm box is overloaded by a few hundred saved pm's. If the changeover didn't happen I would have agreed with you but in that time a lot of guys left (and jon this isn't being said as a shot at the changeover just what is going on) I was able to get a couple of guys today to do the right thing and should have there end sent right out.

My post didn't come off right. sorry joe. i knew about dave's dad and brent being banned. i know you guys are solid BOTL's. i know you guys aren't deadbeats.

Time to man up. I'm not going to make a bunch of excuses, I should have paid up on this when the league had ended. I appreciate jitsy sending me another reminder after I deleted all the items in my INBOX to clear up the 'out of space' issue.
