Yeah I bailed on that because it's probably unreasonable to think anyone in trouble in the USA today would be genuine about their feelings. What's gotten really ridiculous is how the contrition defense has evolved over the years. It points to the truth about creeping immorality, that is you don't get a diseased culture over night. It takes time and careful cultivation. 20 years ago a person could come out BEFORE they were caught red handed and still expect to receive damage to career and personal life by being honest about their problem. Then it morphed to being totally acceptable and in fact honorable to admit to a problem before being caught. Now we have people getting caught and using that opportunity (bad choice of words) to divulge their pity inducing problem. In the old days they would get laughed off the stage for trying that angle. Now it's almost acceptable. Morality isn't destroyed over night. It takes time and a determined effort to git r done.
