Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

Recently, I have been reviewing a lot of hard to find or expensive sticks. I received an e-mail about a rare stick that I have. I was saving it as a souvenir. I was told that my friend would want me to smoke it. The point is that these rare or good sticks ARE meant to be smoked.

Again, I review a lot rare or high dollar sticks. My thought is, this way I have the memory of the stick, and I can share the experience with all of you. You may choose to seek out one and try it yourself. My thought is, enjoy what we pay for or are gifted. If I send you a Opus, God of Fire or 80th, SMOKE IT.

So I ask this question to you all. Are you smoking or staring at your hard to find sticks?

I might even someone with a stick or two TO SMOKE.

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

Well my collection is meager compared to most here, but I tend to save the nicer sticks for "special occasions" - that could be sharing them in good company, celebrating good news, or just a damn fine lazy saturday afternoon with some good bourbon. Of course, with summer around the corner, I'll probably be smoking a lot of the good ones!

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

I smoke whatever I am in the mood for and I have found that I usually end up gifting my rare or harder to come by smokes...don't know why just happenes that way.

I have not put anything in the humi as off limits.

I dont have any hard to finds.... I smoked em all

I try to hold onto the expensive cigars or hard to find cigars for a time I can give them the attention they deserve, but I dont save them just because there hard to find or expensive.

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

to smoke or not to smoke the good ones is the question.

I only have a few hard to find cigars. I save those for special occasions.

my 40th is on the 31st and I have few great sticks picked out.

I'll let them sit for a little in humi and try to age them a little if the stick already has some good age then I will smoke it sooner. It doesn't matter how much it cost I bought it to smoke it.

Honestly I try to save my special sticks for a special occasion - or at least to celebrate some good news

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

Me? I save them until I'm in the mood for them, and I have enough time to smoke them properly. For instance, I was in the mood for an Opus last night. Didn't have time to smoke the Opus A, so I grabbed one of the smaller ones and smoked away.

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

I used to save obsessively. A few years back on my 50th B'day I lit up an H. Upmann CC that I had had in my humidor for 5 to 6 years. It was tasteless, would not stay lit, tunneled and ran when it was lit. Total disappointment. That was the beginning of the end to my "holding on to cigars" obsession.

Re: Do you smoke ro save your rare cigars?

I think holding on to them, at least for a little bit, does add to the "specialness" of it when you actually smoke it. The anticipation adds to it.

SMOKE THEM. You never know what tomorrow may bring, and this breath may be your last. My cigars will be enjoyed by those that would not appreciate them, while attending my funeral.
