Re: Totaled my bike. Someone pulled out in front of me and ran.

Glad your OK...been hit twice...lived to tell about it and once found the guy and smashed his 93 Rustang GT while his girlfriend was in it waiting for him to come outside from TGI Fridays. It was classic her screaming about me being a psycho and what are you doing to my boyfriends car.

You see, I was slowing down to make a left into my friends driveway on a rainy night. he pulled up to my rear tire real fast and kept backing off....start turning and he comes out of the lane and hits my back tire and drives off...I fly 30' and land in nice soft tall grass.

when he comes out and says to me WTF are you doing to my car a-hole, my response is...

Next time you hit a biker stop and make sure he's dead, or else this will happen to you again...My paint was still on his front bumper.

I have pushed in drivers doors as they are talking on their phones changing lanes into me...my bikes are loud and fast, so its just them being inconsiderate asses

Your Guardian Angel was definitely riding on your shoulder. Glad to hear you are OK. Sucks about the bike though. Maybe you should think about ditching the crotch rocket and getting yourself a nice Fat Boy.

Re: Totaled my bike. Someone pulled out in front of me and ran.

Fellow biker here, been riding for 20 years. Glad you're okay. Did you go to the hospital or the doctor? Last crash I had I was sore but not hurt (sprained wrist was sore for a couple months). The reason I didn't go to doctor was because I was military at the time. The military makes a major big deal if you go to the doctor for an injury caused in a motorcycle accident. It's a serious pain in the ass. So I just skipped it. The insurance company paid for my bike repairs, paid for my damaged gear, and also gave me $2000 extra as long as I agreed not to make any further medical claims based on that incident.

Long story short, if you have pain make sure you tell your insurance company, and get some compensation if possible. Your insurance company would be very interested in finding the cager who cut you off so they can collect on the damages. did you get a description of the vehicle?

Good luck with your bike and I hope you aren't hurting too bad. I'm sure you already know this, but you should always expect that someone might pull out in front of you, and have in your mind already what action you will take if/when that happens (have an escape route planned).

Glad you walked away.

I have friends that ride that I'm always worried about the people that aren't going to see them. We have way to much traffic in our area for me to even think about owning a bike

It wasnt the fact that it was a crotch rocket. HAHAHA. I would not be satisfied if I dont have a crotch rocket. I think what I might do is build my skill up to put the bike on the track where it is safer.

Nice bike! Neon Green Kawasaki Ninja. Classic street bikes. One of the first.

I've been eying a Honda CBR 1000 RR Repsol Edition. Now that's a bike! Heres a pic, the 2009 is even better.

Re: Totaled my bike. Someone pulled out in front of me and ran.

Sorry for bad quality cell phone pics, Thats my bike, almost the same situation like Cypress but only luckier, only plastics were scrached really badly, and broken, plus speedometer mount broke too, but somehow speedometer and headlight didn't break! But the custom paint job, is the part that hurts the most, The bike was originally custom painted, and now I have no clue who could repeat the paint job on it. I mean I do paint jobs, but not that custom. Bike is currently at my shop, Insurance didn't cover custom paint job, but gave enough for new plastics, and original paint lol

It's not how much traffic, it's what kind of driver's you have. I ride in the 2nd largest metro area in the world, with over 20 million people. You have to be vigilent at all times--the drivers here drive like lunatics sometimes, but they do also seem to pay more attention to their driving than most American drivers do.

Re: Totaled my bike. Someone pulled out in front of me and ran.

Les I should of stated that living in South Fl we have to deal with people out of there driving prime year round but then the snow birds come down and it gets even worse. I don't know how some still have their license, I am very alert while driving. Having been out of the country I have riden in some crazy traffic but it seems like everyone is paying more attention.

Found out this morning one of my friends was in a accident over the weekend. Sounds about the same as you cypress but he hit her straight on and went over the car. It was good to hear that he was wearing his protective gear but he is going to the doctor today to get his shoulder looked at. His bike looks totaled.
