Totaled my bike. Someone pulled out in front of me and ran.

Well guys and gals my bike should be totaled as someone pulled out and front of me and ran while i slid up under another car. Luckily my gear is what saved my skin but I am a little sore on my shoulder and ribs. I am fine. I wanted a new and more powerful bike anyway but this was not the way I planned on getting it. I think they should total it. I happened about 6:30 pm yesterday and I am about to call insurance shortly.

That sucks but the main thing is you or OK...I would think that they would consider it totaled. The wife and I just got back from a 2400 mile trip on ours

Wow! you are lucky. I am sorry your bike is wrecked, however you are in good shape, and your gear is definitely what saved you. Up here in NJ the riding season is just starting, and people are not used to having motorcycles on the road yet. I bet if you could speak to the driver, he/she will say "I never saw you". Riding the bike one always has to be 'on the top of their game', and have the mental aleartness to react in the right way. You didnt target fixate, and managed to swerve away. Good move. Glad you werent seriously. Ride safe!

Are the forks bent? how bout the frame? If not get them to total it....buy it back and toss some new plastic on it....good as new. Even if the forks are bent.......easy fix. Get some new tubes and put em on. Just from lookin at the pics id say its fixable. Glad your walkin!

Forks are not bent. I want them to total it to get a gixer 750. It was a ninja 650 and was my first bike. It would have been a year this june.

Now I know what my brother felt like when he was with me when I took my spill. I tell you I couldn't get off my bike fast enough to get to him. I guess what really freaked me out the most is when he slid under the car. Pretty frightening experience to say the least. Sad about the bike but more relieved he's ok.

yeah what he said. Statisticly your more likely to have a car accident than a motorcycle accident. Had i not been drunk and remembered my 2 crashes id probably have been a bit leary of gettin back on but thank god I was totally smashed and numb...dint remember a thing..dint feel a thing...walked away

PS.....I stopped drinking in 95 (after the crashes)
