San Diego couple ordered that they must stop a Bible study in their home until they get a "permit." The permit costs thousands of dollars. They meet over a meal, discussion and prayer.

Absurd!! What goes on in ones house is not subject to State or Federal laws and any lawyer who wants some quick TV attention will jump all over this. What is next,,,are they going to start knocking down peoples doors to see if they are practicing immorality between two consenting adults? You see where I'm going here,,,,what goes on behind closed doors is none of the governments business and for sure when it comes to Freedom of Speech,,,,religion,,etc. this won't get very far. California has enough crap going on without witch hunting.

That is pretty much in direct disregard of ammendment numero uno, and pretty much the reason our country was founded in the first place.

What is sounds like to me is the government caught wind of the bible study and figured they may be some donations being collected so they are sticking thier hands in to try and get some.

Are we talking 10 friends or 100 at this bible study? The gov. may be able to regulate "large" assemblies within the bounds of the law. Otherwise, this case is ridiculous and hopefully the group will get a good lawyer to set an example to this type of overreach.

From what they've described in the article I don't understand how the county can do this. To me, this is nothing more than a pile of horse manure. It will be interesting though, if it goes to court.
