i have always been a proud american, here lately things certainly are going to pot and nobody seems to want to do a thing about it.

the bad thing is it seems that the flag represents peoples very right to hate it, instead of being excited about the promise of freedom that it represents.

I find it offensive that some imigrants stop face the sun kneel and pray every 15 minutes!! But i cant tell them to stop doing it or id be the bad guy.

On the flag subject.....it laying on the ground to be exact...I work in a Veterans home....I am a disabled vet....one day a coworker was hanging a new flag (and these are large) and was allowing it to touch the ground so I went over and scooped it up. He said "dude its just cloth" WRONG FING ANSWER!! The American Flag is to be treated as a living breathing thing. It does not touch the ground. You do not wear it on your back. Dont fly it until it is just a single thread left. You do not wad it up and toss it in the trash. You do not paint one on a fire hydrant so dogs can piss on it. It is amazing what little the american people know about their own flag. There is actually a whole list of laws purtaining to THE flag. Do a Google on it.

You guys might find it curious that in Vancouver, there is a full-scale smoking ban (can't smoke within several meters of a public building, store, etc.). Not even allowed cigar bars. Yet the hookah parlours are allowed to operate because stopping them would infringe on the religious rights of Vancouver muslims. I'm a huge supporter of equal treatment for all, but I don't think this is equal treatment.

yes the flag still flying, half rotted and sun faded is a major pet peeve of mine.
im glad to see people flying the flag, but they need to follow the rules.

replace the flag when needed, proper disposal that i learned as a boy scout is to burn it properly or to bury it.

it is to be treated with respect and love!

I've read this a couple of time, what the hell are you trying to say??? If you are saying the respect of the flag is up to the individual, of course it is, but that doesn't mean I support those who disrespect it ( by taking it down)
I do not think it is "thin skinned" to be offended by this incident. I am a Patriot, what are you??

Does it surprise me? Not at all.

We as Americans have become a candy-a$$ed, "political correct" version of what we think the world wants us to be to the point that we have forgotten what we were and what made us that way.

Is it truly any wonder why these tiny little countries around the world treat the US like they dos? Not to me. We let them treat us that way.
