My Motorcycle Crash Update 6-22-09: Modifications on New Bike

Original Post 5-30-09 Update is below

Today was a very long day and it started yesterday around 3 pm when I trailered my new bike from the dealership to my house. It had been 28 days since I had last rode and it was kinda scary as I knew I was taking two steps up from the bike that I had. Yesterday I only took it for a spin for about 5 miles and only got it up to about 50 mph. After that my wife and I went to dinner on 4 wheels on a Friday evening instead of two the last time we tried to go out for dinner. Last night was very emotional for both of us. I talked to my late brother in law in prayer all through out the night with the anticipation of riday on the freeway today. I think I only got about 4 hours of sleep at best last night. Went to bed at 10 and got up at 2 and could not sleep. Today's riding went well. I was very happy with my purchase of a GSX-R750. We only had one close call in a gas station parking lot when a goose neck almost backed up and hit Martha. She was shaken up for about 10 minutes but we were able to salvage our riding. Today we put in about 150 miles, went to a winery, and a rose garden. We had a great day but it was very hot. We are beat.

UPDATE: 6/22/09

Well my motorcycle is emerging a very sharp bike. I have done some modifications since the first day I got it. Below I have pictures of added accents. The following I have added to the bike all in Red: Windscreen, brake lever, clutch, lever, handle bar ends, fame sliders, tank guard, oil cap, and frame spools.

Over the weekend I rode the parade lap at Texas World Speedway in College Station TX. I cornered and leaned my bike further than I have ever pushed my limits. Someday I will put a bike on the track for the full day. That hobby is very expensive but very fun.

Here are the before and after shots of my garage from May 1.

Re: My Motorcycle Crash Update 6-22-09: Modifications on New Bike

Hey I have a question that's kind of OT. I want to get into riding and have been looking at first bikes.

What did you start with as your first bike?

All the messages boards seem to recommend the Kawasaki 250R to new riders. Have you had any experiences with one?

BTW, your bike looks siiiiick.

Edit: grammar error
